"F.uck. Joe, wake up," I groaned.

"Hm? Minxie, what's wrong?!" Joe asked, sitting straight up in the bed.

"My stomach. I feel like I need to throw up!"

Joe jumped out of bed and grabbed the bin and held it in front of me and held my hair back.

"My stomach," I cried as I threw up.

"Shh, come on, let's take you to the hospital," Joe said soothingly.

Joe handed me my pyjamas and one of his jumpers as he got dressed quickly too before helping me get dressed. After last night we had fallen asleep naked. My stomach hurt so bad I couldn't really accomplish much.

Joe helped me to the car and then drove us to the hospital.

"Is she going to be okay?" I could hear Joe ask the nurse as she put in a needle to hook me up to a bag of fluids.

"Yes. Well, the doctor said we need to get her into surgery because she is having an appendicitis," The nurse nodded, now prepping me for surgery.

"Surgery?" I whimpered.

"Yes honey. You are having an appendicitis and we need to take it out surgically before it ruptures. Now there are some risks, of course, like any surgery, so we need you to sign this here," She nodded, handing me a clipboard.

"Hello. Minx Levins?" The doctor announced, "We'll be taking you into surgery in a few moments and I know you are in a lot of pain, but I'll be doing your procedure, and you'll be in good hands."

"Okay," I nodded.

The pain in my stomach was getting worse and worse by the minute and it was hard to concentrate on anything.

"Honey, now we have to ask you to wait in the waiting room. We'll tell you as soon as she is done," The nurse said to Joe.

"Okay. I love you Minxie," Joe said, giving me a small kiss.

"Love you too," I managed to mumble.

"She just needs to rest for a while. She will also have to stay here for a few days to make sure everything is healing and no infections start. But overall, her surgery went well and she just needs to take some antibiotics that we will be giving her with her food and she should have a speedy recovery," I heard someone saying.

I opened my eyes and realised I was in a proper hospital room and there was a new nurse talking to Joe.

"Okay. Thank you," Joe nodded.

"Hi Minx. So I'll be your nurse here for the next few days, I'll be cleaning your incisions to prevent infections and making sure your recovering well. If you need anything you can press that button here and I'll be sure to come as soon as I can. Oh, and my name is Glenn," He smiled.

"Thank you," I nodded weakly.

"Minxie, how're you feeling?" Joe asked.

"Tired," I smiled, "Wait. What time is it?"

"Almost 9 o'clock."

"Joe. Your book-signing starts soon! You need to go get ready."

"I was going to reschedule it. I want to stay here with you and make sure you're okay."

"No. Please don't. You've worked so hard for this. I will just be here sleeping anyway," I begged, "Just come back afterwards."
