Chapter 33: Leaving Again

We all walked together to the locker room, waiting for the military police. Jade held my face and inspected all the wounds. She was still crying, "I love you, Tommy. I love you" She spoke in between cries. I felt my heart sink, this was all too overwhelming for everyone. I gave Jade the best hug I could give and I sat down. My shoulder hurt so bad. "I love you too. All of you" I rasped. All three of them gave me warm smiles.

"We gotta pop your shoulder back into place" Naomi said, getting up facing me. I nodded, I knew it was gonna hurt like a bitch. Jade held my my hand, supporting me. Naomi put her hands on my fucked up shoulder, quickly popping it back in place. I winced, squeezing Jades hand tight, and clenching my jaw.

I held my family and we all sat in silence for a bit. I knew I had to leave soon. They were going to take me away. I didn't know how long I was gonna he gone. I knew everyone was going to be upset but I had to do what I had to do. "Tommy, I'm so sorry" Jade mumbled. "Nuh uh, Jade you don't have anything to be sorry for." I say putting my good arm around her. "God Tommy, I have so much to be sorry for. I missed you so much, I should have gone with you but I couldn't just leave. I didn't know Ma was sick, I didn't know things were that bad." She weeped, leaning into me. "It's okay, I should have been here for you guys." I spoke.

The military police came in and everyone gave me sad looks. "Tommy, you can't go, please don't leave me again!" Jade spoke, tears streaming down her face again. I got up and pulled her to me, giving her a hug. "Shh Jade, I have to go. I'll be back. I love you" I mumbled to her and let her go. Brendan gave me a hug, "You come back, okay?" I nodded.

Naomi was comforting Jade and I looked at the police. "How long will I be in there?" I asked. "The least, about 3 years" one of them replied. "Wait what?! 3 years?! I can't be gone that long!" I yelled. I couldn't leave them again. Naomi came up behind me, turning me to face her. "Tommy.." Was all she could say. "I'll come back for you. Wait for me." I say, looking into her eyes and giving her a gentle kiss before the men took my away.

I looked back and I could see Brendan trying his best to hold Jade together. Naomi watched me leave and I could still love the sadness in her eyes. I didn't want to leave, especially for that long. They needed me and I had to leave again. I'd be comming back. No fucking way I wouldn't stay there for that long.
