4. We Are the Kings and the Queens of the New Broken Scene

Emmett grabbed his gear that next morning and was out the door as Jensen glanced up from the table, "Hey Emmett get back here!"

Emmett poked his head back into the room, "What?"

"I'm heading out today, I won't be back until Sunday."

"OK, have fun."

"You aren't worried?"

"They already made their minds up so I'm pretty sure what they want, they are gonna get."

Jensen nodded his head back at his son as Emmett was gone.

JJ walked down the steps as Jensen glanced up at her, "Are you gonna say goodbye to me?"

JJ walked over to Jensen and wrapped her arms around his neck, "Just come home."

Avery stopped as she walked in from the living room and looked back at her.

Jensen smiled back at JJ, "I will always come home."

Avery shook her head as she waved back at Jensen, "See you on Sunday."

Jensen nodded his head as Avery went out the door to find Thomas and Landon in the driveway.

Avery glanced over at them, "What is going on?"

Landon smiled at her, "I was thinking we do something else today."

Avery shook her head back at him, "You think little princess would agree to something like that?"

JJ glared back at her.

"She better, I have been waiting for today all week." Mavi said jumping up from the back of Landon's jeep.

Emmett smiled over at JJ, "Either go to school or come on."

Shep glanced over at her, "Come on JJ don't do this to us."

"Yea, seriously don't fuck us over because of your perfect record." Tristan said back to her.

JJ glared back at him.

Avery cracked a smile, "Come on let's head out before it gets too late."

Landon slapped the hood of his jeep with a smile, "Let's do this!"

Avery got into her car as JJ glanced back at her.

Emmett got into the jeep with Landon and Mavi as Thomas already had Shep and Tristan.

JJ walked over to Avery's car with her head dropped.

"Get in loser." Avery laughed back at her.

JJ got into the car as Landon pulled away from the house first.

On the road, JJ looked down at the Audi that Avery was gifted for her 16th birthday.

"You can change the station if you want." Avery said back to her.

"Oh no, this is fine."

"You don't have to be so awkward in my car JJ. We are family."

JJ glanced back at Avery, "Everyone keeps telling me that but I don't feel it."
