"Avery, Avery, you need to wake up!"
Avery rolled over in her bed as JJ was standing over her with Mavi at the door with tears rolling down her cheeks, "What is going on?"
Mavi stepped back as Avery walked out of the room.
There in the middle of the front foyer was the body of one of the creatures that had attacked them earlier the day before.
Emmett glared up at her, "Just like that we are alone."
Avery glanced down at him, "Is everyone in the house?"
Landon walked out from under the landing, "Yea, we saw this and started a head count.
Avery glanced over as Matt walked up the steps to her, "This doesn't make any sense. This house was protected by Gods."
Mavi looked back at her, "Avery, I'm pretty sure in a war between the Guardians and the Royal Families, things are gonna get complicated."
Avery shook her head as she heard JJ start to cry, "We can't cry anymore. This isn't a time for us to break down."
Mavi glanced over at JJ.
"Thomas, I need you and Landon to make sure that the house is locked up. That all windows and doors are covered. That nothing can get into the house." Avery said down to them.
Landon looked up at her, "What about us getting out?"
"We aren't leaving, not just yet." Avery said as she walked down the hallway with JJ and Mavi behind her.
Matt turned and walked with them, "What do you have in plan?"
Avery glanced back at him, "We need a little help."
JJ stopped and looked at her, "Help from who?"
Avery pushed the door open as it opened up to a large empty room with a book in the middle of the room.
Matt walked into the room behind her.
Avery walked over to the book, "My father always talked about how our bloodlines will help us in the end."
JJ looked at her, "I'm pretty sure that isn't in my case."
Matt looked over at her, "You can't be so hard on yourself."
"My mother, our mother, was even the Darkness."
Matt nodded his head back at her, "That was her choice, my choice is not to be her."
"You know our father went against his people and fucked them over right?" JJ looked at him.
"But our other family didn't. Our uncle is strong and wants the best for us. Jordana wants the best for us."
Tristan and Shep walked into the room as Landon was behind them.
Thomas walked in with Emmett as Avery looked at them.
Emmett looked over at her, "You wanna tell us what you are about to do?"
Avery flipped the book open, "I'm gonna get someone here who will listen to us."
