"The Talk"

***Norman's POV***

When we got back to the house and got Mason settled in Missy and Ashley talked about what to fix for dinner tonight. I knew she would need to go to the store since I ate out all the time when I'm home. So I gave her my card.

"What is this for?...I'm not taking that." Ashley said looking at me.

"What are you going to get what you need with...your looks?" Missy asked.

"Well she can totally do that." I said as Ashley looked at me and smiled.

"Give me the damn thing I know the number...she's not going to take it." Missy said as Ashley shook her head no.

"Give it to Mingus...he's going with me." Ashley said as Mingus smiled from ear to ear. "As long as Norman says he can go." She added as Mingus looked at me.

"I don't care." I said as Mingus smiled and hugged me.

"Thanks dad." Mingus said.

"Yeah...yeah...but your not driving." I said as his mouth dropped open.

"But why not...I have my permit?" Mingus asked as I looked at Ashley.

"I don't care if he drives my car or not but if you say no then I'm not going against your word." Ashley said as I rolled my eyes.

"Fine you can drive, just be careful understand." I said as Mingus nodded and ran upstairs to change.

"What do you need besides what I'm picking up for dinner?" Ashley asked.

"I'll right a list of the stuff what we need." I said as she smiled at me before she kissed me and headed in the living room with Missy and Mason waiting on Mingus to get ready.

"You seem happy bro." Sean said as I looked at him and smiled.

"I am." I said looking at them.

"Happy enough to finally settle down?" Sean asked as I looked at him.

"Happy enough to maybe pop the question finally." I said as Sean looked at me with surprise.

"How long have you known her?" Sean asked.

"16 years...I thought I lost her for good...but she came back to me." I said as Sean gave me a strange look. "It's a long story." I added as I wrote everything down that I thought we would need as Mingus came down stairs ready.

"Alright babe...we're heading out." Ashley said as she came into the kitchen and took the list from me.

"Alright be careful." I said as she smiled and gave me a kiss on the lips.

"Always....I love you." Ashley said hugging me.

"I love you to baby." I said as she turned around as I popped her butt before she was able to escape me. I laughed because the only thing she done was flip me the bird before heading out of the house.

Once she was gone, Missy turned on the TV for Mason and let him watch Sponge Bob. Sean and I went into the living room with them and watched it as well since it was a pretty funny cartoon. After about 30 minutes I started to worry about Mingus and Ashley so I texted them.

"Are you okay?" I texted then pressed the send button. It was a few minutes before she texted back.

"Were good...standing in line....be there in a few....love you." I smiled when I seen the text message.

"I love you more." I texted back and tried to relax.

I was dead in thought when Alice and Cooper started barking letting us know Ashley and Mingus was back home. I smiled and got up to see if I could help put stuff away but when Ashley walked in thru the door she looked at me and shook her head.
