Norman's POV

Nothing much happened after Christmas morning all I knew is that I was a happy man knowing Ashley was soon going to be Mrs. Reedus. We all spent the rest of the week with Mom and Leslie and even New Years before it was time to go home and back to our lives. Mom seemed sad about us leaving.

"You better come back and see us soon." Mom said.

"We will Momma." I said.

"You too Mel and Jeff I had an awesome time." Mom said hugging Mel and then Jeff.

"We will, and you will have to come to NC to come see us as well." Mel said.

"We need to make up a date and time." Mom said.

"How about sometime this coming up summer?" Jeff asked.

"That will be perfect." Mom said. "Have a safe trip and Ashley keep that son of mine in line." She added.

"Oh trust me I will." Ashley said popping my butt. "Love you." She added.

"Love you too sweetheart." Mom said as we loaded up.

"I'm driving the car back home dad." Mingus said.

"What?" I asked.

"I already told him that he could." Ashley said as I nodded.

"Alright just be careful." I said.

"I will." Mingus said as Roxie and him got into Ashley's car and waited on us.

Once Mason was buckled in next to Chewie we was on our way to NC to drop Mel and Jeff off then head to our home in Hickory. I drove since Ashley wasn't aloud to doctors orders. So she played with her iPod. (Hot Love) by T. Rex played then more of his others as we left Florida.

After we left Florida the temperature changed and Ashley turned on the heater and closed her eyes.

"I am so going to miss the warm weather." Ashley cried.

"After you lived there for a while you wouldn't be saying that." I said placing my hand on hers.

"I hear yea." Ashley said locking her fingers with mine.

Within minutes she was out like a light. I smiled and unlocked our fingers and brushed a stray of hair out of her face and turned the radio up a little bit more since one of my favorite song began to play (Still the one) by Orleans.

"I'm so happy for you guy Norman." Jeff said.

"Thank you me too." I said smiling knowing I had the love of my life right beside of me.

We continued to talk about all the odds and inns all the way to North Carolina besides the pit stops for gas between the states. The whole ride Ashley was out. Which I knew she was tired. When we got to Mel and Jeff I was about to wake Ashley up but Mel and Jeff shook their heads no.

"Let her sleep...just tell her to call us when she wakes up." Jeff said.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yeah...go ahead and go home you look tired." Mel said.

"Alright I love you guys." I said.

"Love you too thank you for everything." They both said.

"Thank you." I said smiling and stayed in the driveway until they turned on the porch light letting me know that they got in okay I lightly tapped my horn telling them goodbye and then back up and headed to Hickory.

Ashley woke up in the middle of heading home. She woke up and looked around and noticed Mel and Jeff was gone then looked at me.

"I just dropped them off at their house." I said.
