Billie's POV:
I had no idea what I was going to do about Chelsea. I usually had a spark of a plan but I've never gone through this before, so I had no idea where to start. Then it hit me. The only thing that helps me whenever I need to get rid of pain is music.
I walked upstairs and into my room where my old guitar, Blue, was. I picked Blue up and headed back downstairs and to the bathroom Chelsea was in. I sat on the outside of the bathroom and began to lightly strum the strings. The strings that brought life back into me whenever I was down. The strings that healed me when I was hurt. The strings that made me feel no pain.
I thought about what song I should play and usually I would know right away but I had no clue. I began to randomly strum Blue and the random strumming slowly turned into The Forgotten. I hummed to the song quietly so that I wouldn't wake up Jakob or Joey, but knowing them they were probably still awake anyways.
After a few moments of me playing, I nearly fell backwards when the bathroom door opened. I stood up quickly and looked at Chelsea with happiness and relief. She stood there with her arms crossed and tears stained on her face.
"I'm glad that your out now," I said with a smile.
"My mom said that there was only one type of music, but I don't think I believe her anymore," Chelsea said while wiping tears from her bloodshot eyes.
"Are you telling me that you've never heard all the genres of music?" I asked with astonishment.
"My mom said that classical was all that there was. What other genres are there?" she asked with confusion.
She's never heard other music besides classical?! How is this even possible?! I need to show her every single song I know! She needs to feel every emotion that music brings!
"How have you not heard any other music?!" I asked frustratedly.
She cowered backwards and looked scared. I didn't mean to make her scared but music was and is my passion. I was frustrated that she didn't hear any music and I was trying to help, but I didn't really notice that I was raising my voice.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to raise my voice but music is my passion and it gives me life, and it upsets me that you've only heard classical," I apologized sympathetically.
"I-It's okay. You didn't mean to," she forgave me quietly and nervously.
Shit! I fucked up again! I made her even more timid than she already was! I wish this was easier.
Adrienne walked up to us and had a letter with her. She looked sad but it was obvious that she was trying to hide it. I looked at her worriedly and she faked a smile. She handed the letter to Chelsea and then wrapped her arms around me.
Chelsea's POV:
Adrienne handed me a letter and I took it out of her hands. It was addressed to me and had messy handwriting with no stamp or anything that indicated it came through the mail. I flipped it over so that I could rip it open and read the letter. I took the lined piece of paper out of the envelope and began to read it.
Hi sissy! I don't know where I'm going but the policeman says that I should write this for you. I think that we're going to Grandma's house until daddy wakes up. I call the biggest room! Hurry up and be done with getting intergated so we can play dress up! I love you!
-SophieI read through the letter a few times and didn't even care that she spelled interrogated wrong. My sister was going to live with our grandma, and she had no idea that I wasn't going with her. I never even told her that we were going separate ways. I never wanted her to worry about me, that was my job.
I looked up and Adrienne had a sympathetic grin on her face. Billie looked very confused and concerned while I felt like crying. I knew that I would never see my sister again since my grandma doesn't like me anymore.
Nana, also known as my grandma, used to always love me and she was the only one who seemed to care until my mom turned psycho. Nana thought that I was going to turn out like my parents, and she wanted me to stay away from Sophie. In fact, Nana was so worried that I would influence my sister to kill someone that she didn't see how scared I was.
"You look exhausted," Adrienne said calmly with loving eyes.
"I am," I said tearfully.
"I'll show you your room that you can stay in," Billie said as he turned and began walking towards the stairs.
I followed him and looked back at Adrienne who was following as well. She looked tired as well and distraught, but hid her feelings so well that I almost didn't notice. I must've looked like a train-wreck or a basket case because of how tired I was.
We walked upstairs and to a double door that led to the room I was going to stay in. When Billie opened one of the doors, there was a guitar on a stand, a king-sized bed, a dresser, a flat screen TV, and a computer desk. It was the nicest room that I had ever seen in my entire life. The walls were painted a lavender-like color and the bed sheets were black as well as the bed frame. Almost every piece of furniture was either black or dark gray, my two favorite colors.
Billie walked inside of the room and turned on the lights while Adrienne and I followed. He went to the dresser and grabbed some sweatpants along with a plain t-shirt from one of the drawers.
"Since you didn't have any bags, I ran to the store and just guessed what size clothes you were and I hoped for the best," Adrienne said with a smile.
"They should fit," I said sheepishly with a fake smile.
"You should get some sleep, you've had a long day and tomorrow you're meeting the other members of the family," Billie explained while pulling me in for a quick hug.
"Goodnight," I began sleepily and quietly. "Thank you for everything."
"We don't turn our backs on family no matter how well or how little we know them, so it was our pleasure," Adrienne said as she hugged me tightly.
When she hugged me, I felt something that gave me such a happy feeling. My mother never hugged me and I never felt like she was a mother. Adrienne was different. She had a motherly feel to her and she made me feel at home. I started to feel like someone actually wanted me here.
