Chapter 11:
"I'll just have a sprite, thanks," I told the waitor who was writing down our orders. I watched as Anne ordered her drink then the waitor left.
"So," she said blowing out a puff of air. "This has been an..eventful..few weeks, yeah?" she started.
I hadn't really told Anne exactly what happened because once again, I still was not 100% sure of what I had physically done myself. Well, I obviously almost killed myself, but I still don't know exactly why.
I could tell Anne was uncomfortable asking. She also sounded a bit nervous. I tried to reasure her by placing my hand over hers.
I could see the worried expression in her face. Just then, the waitor arrived with our drinks and we each ordered our small little personal pizzas.
When the waitor left once again, I turned my attention back to Anne.
"I'm fine, Anne. I truly mean it." I told her.
Her look of concern remained. "Why'd you do it?" she asked.
I sighed, removing my hand from hers and folding it on my lap. "I don't know."
The air around us felt thick. "Anyways," I said, trying to lighten the mood.
"Right. So how's life?" Anne asked.
I lightl laughed. "Same old, same old." I told her.
We talked for the remainder of lunch avoiding the topic that was still looming in both of our minds. We munched away on our pizza then we left.
After lunch we went back to her apartment to finish packing up our things.
For camping.
Yup, that's right, we were all going camping. We figured it would be a nice little mini vacation and it would give us all time to bond, so we made reservations to some place on the other side of a huge lake, and the only way to get to it was by boat.
Everyone was super excited except for one minor- ok - major setback; Megan was coming. I don't think any of us were too happy about that but we all decided to just suck it up and deal with it.
We heard a honk outside and Anne and I grabbed our things and ran outside. There was a huge gray van sitting outside of Anne's house that the boys rented for the trip. The site was two hours away and we all wanted to go together.
Anne and I piled in to the van where the music was already playing pretty loud.
"ROADTRIPP!" Anne yelled.
By the time we got there, almost everyone was sleeping, so Jason and I honked the horn as loud as we could to wake them up. They all groaned and Jason and I laughed and high-fived.
We road the boat to the campsite and set up our tents then figured out our sleeping arangments which took way longer than neccesary because it took forever to get Megan to sleep in the tent with the girls because she just had to be with Colin at all times.
We pretty much just hung out for the rest of the night, then later that night we all decided to go on a boat ride around the lake.
We packed up some food and drinks and put on out bathing suits and got onto the boat. We had to drop Megan and Colin off at the other side because they were going to dinner for their anniversary.
After we dropped them off, we started to ride around the lake. Jason drove the baot since he knew how to and Anne sat in the seat next to him. The rest of us were lounging in the back which had cushioned seats around the whole back.
