The day had dragged on. No one had said a word to me after the gym class incident. But everyone stared at me as I walked through the halls and in class.

I sat there in history my head lowered and my hood up covering my face. I felt someone tap my shoulder. I ignored them.

"I feel bad for you, Michael. I know what it's like to get beat up like that. I understand." I had recognized the voice, it was Luke Hemmings, the captain of the soccer team.

I turned and looked at him. "You don't understand anything." I say. "And when the hell did you start talking to me? I thought you hated me just like everyone else in this school."

Luke shook his head. "I don't hate you." He said.

"Yeah, whatever." I say turning back to the front. I then raised my hand.

"Yes, Michael?" My teacher said.

"May I go to the nurse?" I said as a slight pain began in my side.

"Yes, take a pass." She said.

"Thank you." I said. I stood up and my vision became blurred.

"Michael?" Someone said. "You okay?"

"I don't know." I say my voice trailing off as I feel to the ground.
------------
I awoke to a face hanging over me. They smiled.

"Glad to see that you're awake." The person said.

"What?" I said my head pounding.

"You hit your head off the ground in your history class." The nurse said.

"I did?" I questioned.

"Dear god, do you remember anything?" She said sounding concerned.

I shrugged. "I don't remember hitting my head at all." I said.

"That's normal." She said to me. "Just hold this ice pack on there for the rest of the day and bring it back later."

"Alright." I said standing up.

"Before you go," she stopped me. "How's your hand?"

"Hurts, but I can deal with it." I say looking down at my hand.

"I'll give you this." She said. "Let me see your hand."

I lifted my hand. "Okay." I said.

"These should help the pain." She said putting an ice pack at the top and bottom of my cast. "Alright get back to class."

I nodded. "Thank you." I said leaving her office.
------------
"Glad to see you're okay." My teacher said as I walked in.

I smiled at her and kept my head down. I slumped down in my seat and held the ice pack to my head.

"You okay Michael?" I heard Luke whisper in my ear.

"I'm fine." I mumbled back.

"That's good." He said leaning back.

I turned to him. "Why are you flaking to me now?"

He shrugged. "I don't know."

I smiled. "Maybe we can talk more soon."

He nodded. "Yeah, that'd be nice."
----------
I kept seeing Violet in the halls but she kept avoiding me. Every time we would make eye contact she would turn away and walk the other way.

"Silent treatment?" Calum said leaning against the locker next to mine.

I shook my head. "No, she called me hot yesterday and I think she's embarrassed."

Calum laughed. "She called you hot?" He bent over and kept laughing.

"Fuck you." I said slightly laughing at him and began to walk to lunch.

"I'm sorry but I found that very funny that she thinks your hot."

"I hate you." I said hitting him.

"Come on." He said.
----------
Calum and I sat there talking about Jake and my mom.

"I still don't get why she stays with him considering what he did to you." Calum said taking a bite of his lunch.

"I don't even care anymore." I said picking at the lunch I had. "It's not my decision anymore, so why should I care."

"Well, it's for your safety too." He said.

I shrugged. "I don't care about my safety. I may not show it all the time but I only stay there in that house because of Emily. I only stay for her."

"Wow, you have a heart." Calum said laughing.

"We can't have a serious conversation can we." I said throwing my fork down.

"Sorry." Calum said.

I stood up. "Whatever." I said. "I'll see you later."
------------
"Michael, I got a call from you gym couch." My mom said ask walked into the door.

"And?" I said already knowing why he called.

"He said you had bruises on the side of body." She said crossing her arms. "Lift your shirt up."

I sighed and lifted the sides of my shirt. She gasped. "Michael, when we were at the hospital I thought you only had a few cuts. They never told me about that."

I looked down. "That's why I change in the bathroom. I mumbled.

"Come here baby." She said carefully pulling me into a hug. "Sweetie, you know you can tell me anything right?"

I nodded. "I know." I said.

Then I heard the phone ring. "I'll get it mom." I said walking to the phone that was placed in the living room.

I sighed and picked it up. "Hello?" I said.

"Hello. Is Michael there?" It was a man's voice that remembered.

My eyes widened. "This is Michael." I said.

"Well," the man said. "Michael this is your dad."

Note: Woah what?

I'm sorry this sucked but I tried. Also I'm sorry I haven't updated Runaways in like a week, I think. I've just been having some writers block with it.

But, I have good and bad news. My bad news is I'm not going to a 5sos soundcheck but my good news is IM SEEING 5SOS AGAIN AHHHH. I've already seen them like 3 times (1D WWA 2014, GMA in New York, and ROWYSO 2015) already but whatever.

Hope you enjoyed!

All the love- H
