Violet pulled away from me and smiled at me. Her hand was still on the back of my neck.

"Kiss me again." She said trying to pull me back to her lips.

I lowered my head. "Violet, do you really love me?" I said quietly.

"What?" She said kissing my cheek.

"Never mind." I said pulling away and my eyes closing slightly.

Violet looked down. "I should go. My parents don't know I came over here. They think I'm out with a 'friend'." She said putting air quotes around friend.

"Have you made any friends here?" I asked here.

She shook her head. "No, I'm only friends with you." She lowered her head. "I should be going."

"Will you come back soon?" I said a childish time in my voice.

She smiled. "If you want me to."
-----
"I have good news, baby." My mom said her words slightly slurred as she walked into my room.

"What's that?" I asked. "Wait, don't tell me. You took me out of school, you finally stopped calling Jake every night, or I finally get to move out and live somewhere far away."

She shook her head. "Michael, stop." She stumbled closer to my bed.

"Fine then what is this good news."

"The doctor called and said you could get your cast off tomorrow." She said falling onto the edge of my bed.

I looked at her. "Wow, that's fucking great. I don't care."

She stood up and looked at me. "What the hell is wrong with you these days!" She yelled. "Michael, you have become such a little shit! An ungrateful little shit!" She leaned closer to my face, her breath smelled of wine.

I leaned away. "'Mom have you been drinking?"

She laughed drunkly. "No."

I pulled my sheets off and looked her in the eyes. "Look at and tell me you didn't drink." She kept her head low and her eyes avoiding mine. "I can't believe you mom."

I shook my head and walked down stairs to the kitchen to see three empty beer bottles and two wins glasses sitting on the table. I walked in and threw one of the bottles down on the ground causing it to smash into pieces.

"What the fuck! You were sober for two years!" I screamed. "How did you even find these!" Tears welled in my eyes. "I thought you changed mom!"

"Baby I'm sorry." She wailed.

"No you're not! You're never sorry! You told me when I was nine that you'd stop drinking and if you did start drinking again I would have to call a rehab facility." I looked down. "You've given me no choice."

"I'm not even that bad!" She yelled.

"Mom, I've tried not to believe this but you've been drunk every night." I said grabbing the phone. "I can hear bottles braking down here late at night. You can't hide anything mom."

I them dialed the rehab center. "Hello." I said. I looked at my mom and walked into the living room.

"Yes, I would like to have a room saved for Karen Clifford." I nodded listening to the receptionist. "Thank you." I nodded again. "Yes, please have someone come and get her I know she'll fight against me."

I then sighed hanging up the phone. "You caused this yourself mom." I said. "You caused this."
---------
"Pack some things up Emily." I said walking up the stairs after I had watched them drag my mom out of the house.

"Michael, what's going on?" She said her eyes wide.

"We're staying with Calum's family for awhile." I said walking into my room and throwing clothes onto the ground.

"Why are we going there?" Emily questioned.

"I'll answer you questions later. Just get your things ready to leave."

"How long are we staying?"

"Three weeks or longer." I said running into the bathroom.

"Okay." Emily said holding her head low.

I then heard my phone ring. "Hello." I said throwing things into my bag.

"I'm on my way there, are you and Emily ready?" Calum asked on the other line.

"Emily is getting her things ready." I said. "I'm coming back for some things tomorrow."

"Alright, I'll text you when I pull up." He said hanging up.
----------
"I'm really sorry Michael." Calum said as Emily and I got in the car.

"I don't care. I don't want to talk about it." I said looking out the window.

"I get it." He said. "It's okay buddy."

I shook my head. "It's been a shit week." I said laughing. "I live a shit life."
------
I stood there below Violet's window. I held rocks in my hand and kept throwing them at her window until she finally opened it and looked down at me.

"Michael?" She said running her eyes.

"Come over to my house." I said.

"I can't." She said.

"Yes, you can." I said. "Come on." I said running towards my front door.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Why am I out here at midnight?" Violet said.

"Cause I wanted to see you." I said opening the door.

I grabbed Violet's hand. "Come to my room with me."

Violet followed me up the stairs. "Why am I coming to your room with you?"

"You'll see."
--------
Violet lied there with her head rested on my bare chest. I sighed. "Well, now look at us."

She laughed sitting up. She looked my torso. She placed her hand on my sides. "I didn't notice those scars before." She said shocked. "Why?"

"There's the words that my step dad, real dad, and mom yelled at me. I represent them as scars." I said.

Violet lied back down. "Don't do it again." She said. "I love you and that's what matters."
