I wish I could die.
I had just told my best friend my real feelings toward her.
She rejected me.
Just like I had thought she would.
I'm so stupid.
**
I was moving tomorrow anyways, so what would it matter?
No,
I can't ever forget how she made me feel.
Never...
**
"Adaline!!! Are you packed!!?" My mother yelled.
"Yeah!!" I yelled, zipping up my suitcase. I was moving to a small town called "Lost Hills". It got its name because there were many hills and the view was memorizing.
One problem with the trip though, I had to sit on a plane for 4 hours with my mom and my little brother... This would be fun.
****
I kissed the ground as soon as we landed, "I missed you ground."
"Stop embarrassing yourself and us, let's go." My mother said.
"Nooo," I told her, "I missed the ground." If you can't tell already, I hated planes. Heights weren't a problem but planes... I wouldn't go on one if I didn't have to.
"Whoa, I don't think the floor is interested sweetheart," I heard a voice that I haven't heard before. I looked up and saw a girl with light brown eyes and long brown hair.
"I think that you're just jealous." I looked at her, sinking closer to the ground.
She looked at me sternly and I looked at her with the same expression till we both burst out laughing. "I think I like you, we're going to have to hang out sometime." She said, helping me off the ground. "I'm Carolyn." She smiled.
"And I'm Adaline." I told her, "Its nice to meet you."
"Right back at you," She said, "So, what brings you to the airport?"
"We just moved here," I said.
"Really? What town are you moving to?" She asked me.
"Lost hills." Carolyn's jaw dropped.
"I live there!!" Carolyn told me, "We're going to have to hang out sometime."
"Okay, sure," I laughed, "So how about you? What brings you to the airport?"
"I'm waiting for my little sister," She said, "Delilah,"
"Aw, how old is she?"
"7"
"She's not alone right?"
"No, of course not!" Carolyn said, "She's coming back from Kansas with my best friend."
"Really?" I asked, "What's your best friend like?"
"Well, he's kind of shy, but he warms up to people quick; and he's like, super outgoing in his group of friends," She told me, "His name is Brett,"
"I'll have to meet him sometime." I smiled.
"Well, you won't have to wait," Carolyn said, looking behind me as a huge smile appeared on her face. She bolted past me and I turned, only to see her giving a little girl a hug followed by a tall guy with fringe and a beanie, assumingly Brett.
I slowly approached them, "Oh, guys, this is Adaline, I just met her like... five minutes ago." She introduced me.
"Hi, its nice to meet you guys!" I said to Brett and Delilah.
"It's nice to meet you too," Brett said shyly, looking down at his feet and pulling on his sleeves.
"Addie!!!" My mom yelled, calling for me.
I turned my head looking for her, when I saw her she was motioning for me to hurry up so that we could go. "Hey, I gotta go." I told them.
"Okay, but you're at least going to have to put your number in my phone," Carolyn said, handing me her phone. I put my number in it and handed it back to her. I gave her a hug and waved to Brett and Delilah.
Time to check out my new home.
