*A Long While Later*
A break from school was what I needed, luckily a short break was just a month away. This is where I am now, on break, sitting in the park at a picnic table reading a novel - just what I needed.
Of course everything had to be ruined though, "What's up whore?" Karmen asked me, walking over and sitting down across from me. 'Why is she still in town?' I asked myself in my head.
I didn't respond, seeing as how Karmen isn't worth the time.
"Can't speak today? Or are you just afraid I'm going to hurt your precious feelings again?" she said pouting, talking in a baby voice towards the end of her sentence.
I continued to stay silent, trying to focus on my book.
"Hm.." Karmen hummed, "Fair enough, just know everyone thinks you're cheating on our boyfriend... not long 'till it reaches... your boyfriend himself... how angry would that make him?"
"It's nice to know that you're spreading rumors rather than your legs for once." I finally retorted.
"Oh, finally have something to say?" Karmen cocked her head to the side, "I'm glad that I've finally made contact into your realm."
"Yeah, well my realm only listens to the comments that matter." I said, continuing to look at my book.
"Ooh, snappy today... I see how it is," Karmen sassed, leaning closer over the table.
"Karmen," I started, finally looking up from my book, "If I throw a stick will you leave?"
She gave me the most offended look I've ever seen.
"Is that a yes?" I asked, waiting a beat before leaning down to pick up a stick off of the ground. "Alright Karmen," I said excitedly, wiggling it around, "Ready? Fetch!" I yelled as I threw the stick over her head, past the bushes a few feet behind her.
She wrinkled her nose and gave me a disgusted look, storming off in the opposite direction.
I gave myself a smile and went back to reading, enjoying the quiet sounds - nothing but birds and the faint laughter of children on the playground. The shade of the tree behind me keeping me comfortable.
"BOO!!!" I heard, along with hands on my sides. I found myself letting out a small scream.
Realizing who it was I let out a sigh and leaned back into his chest, while he started laughing and he pressed a kiss to the side of my head.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I asked him as he sat down next to me, setting down his fast food cup on the table.
"A lot of things my dear." Jack said.
I hadn't looked at him yet since he got here, but I knew he was smiling. "Now," I started, putting my bookmark in my book, "What makes you think you have the decency to-" I looked up at him, "What the hell Jack?"
The small part in his hair that used to be blonde was now blue. "Like it?" he asked, running his hand through his hair.
"Well, of course, I'm just surprised is all." I said, reaching up to fix his quiff that he ruined by running his hand through it.
