The Next Week
Today was the first day I'd see Adam after the "incident".
Had he bothered to check on me?
No.
As I pulled into the Douglas's driveway, I saw Bobby running out of the front door before I could even put my car in park.
"Hi!" Bobby chirped.
"Hi," I laughed, finally putting my car in park, "Why are you so cheerful today?"
She shrugged, "I guess I'm just happy to see you."
I smiled and climbed out of the car, following her inside the house.
We talked for a while, after I got attacked by Micky with hugs.
We talked about anything and everything, that is... until Adam ruined the party.
"Hey babe!" he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, kissing me on the cheek, "I didn't expect you."
"Yeah," I said through gritted teeth, "Well, I'm everywhere."
"Great," he sighed, "Hey, do you want to watch a movie or something?"
"Well, actually-"
"Awesome!" he interrupted, "Let's go." he grabbed my arm and led me to the living room, setting me down on the couch, telling me he'd be back.
Adam left the room, leaving me by myself. After he didn't come back after five minutes, I decided now would be a good time to explore. I got up off the couch and decided on going upstairs because I hadn't been there in a while. Upon walking up the stairs, I was presented with a rounded room with halls to my left and right.
Many doors littered that room, along with picture frames filled with various faces. I recognized Adam, Bobby, Micky and their parents, but there was a few other faces I didn't recognize.
I went down the hall to my right, acknowledging several other doors. This house would be easy to get lost in. I came across an open door, hearing talking inside the room. Being the obnoxious and curious ass I am, I stopped to listen. I had more of a reason to listen when I heard my name.
"No!" ...... "No, Addie can never know..." "No! Jasmine, she's straight!" ...... "Listen to me! She's dating my brother, she's straight." ...... "Stop! I already talked myself through that, just, lets stop talking about it... please." ...... "Oh," ...... "Yeah, I never thought of it that way."
This is when I looked in the room, leaning on the door frame, watching Bobby who's back was turned to me.
"Okay." ...... "Yeah, bye." Bobby hung up her phone and let out a sigh. When she turned around, she screamed. "A-Addie," she stammered, "How much of that did you hear?"
"Oh, enough," I said, uncrossing my arms and walking towards her, causing her to back up.
"T-trust me, that conversation you just heard was nothing, I was joking." she said as her back hit the wall. I put my hands on the wall behind her, one beside her head and one under her arm.
I gave her a fake look of hurt, "Oh, I hope not."
"Wha-What?" she asked.
"Just, let me get this out now, doll." I said, looking down at her, "I think you're attractive, and you are the only thing that's been on my mind since I met you. And you can't say you don't have some sort of feeling for me, I've seen how you act, I've seen how you look at me. And don't forget that time in the park, on the playground. Also a week ago, when you came to see me. If you weren't flirting, I don't know what you were doing. Now, just know how long I've been waiting for this moment." I leaned in, and she didn't say anything or even pull away. After all this time, I was finally-
"Addie!" I heard Adam yell, causing me to back away quickly. "Ad- Oh, there you are, I was looking for you."
"So I noticed," I said through gritted teeth, looking over my shoulder at Bobby. She seemed just as annoyed, with her jaw clenched.
Adam walked over to me and put his hands on my hips, leaning in to plant a kiss on my lips. I put a hand on his chest to stop him, giving a little look of disgust. "Not right now," I said, glancing over at Bobby, who gave a grateful smile. I grabbed his wrists, removing his hands from my waist.
"Oh, well, I have to head out real fast; I forgot I promised... someone I'd meet them." Adam said, suspiciously, but I didn't bother asking.
"Okay," I said, "Be careful."
"I will, sorry about the movie," he said, placing a kiss on my cheek, "Bye babe."
"Bye," I said, letting out a sigh when he left the room. "So," I started, looking around the room, "Is this your room?"
"Yeah," Bobby told me, joining me in looking around.
The room was white, with one accent wall colored yellow. The walls were lined with jerseys and signed sports-related things. There were baseball bats in the corner, along with a bag of baseballs. A signed football sat on her nightstand next to her bed, which had light blue covers and blankets. Stuffed animals sat on the bed next to an emoji pillow.
The top of her dresser was filled with various makeup things, along with picture frames of her and friends.
The floors were dark hardwood, the kind that is fun to slide around on in socks. Two rugs, yellow and blue, also sat next to a chair in the corner of her room by a window.
"Your room really... really describes you," I told her.
"That's what everyone says," She giggled.
