LOUIS' POV
Yesterday, El was acting a bit strange when I talked to her about possibly going to her house to practice but I didn't want to push her into telling me anything. Although, right now, I'm really curious to find out why, perhaps I should call her.
Without thinking twice, I pick up the phone and find her name and number, which had three hearts written next to it. I dial her number and wait for the ring to end, signalling that she picked up, or isn't at the phone.
"Hello?" I hear her angelic voice say.
"Hi love," I beam. "Can I come over today? Crystal is driving me crazy."
"Um no sorry, but I can come over and keep you company," she stammers quickly.
"I don't think you'll want to do that, Crystal is being almost as annoying as you right now," I joke.
"You looking in a mirror there bud?" she plays along. "It's okay, if I can handle you, I can handle anyone, including Crystal."
I decide to go straight to the question, not knowing how to answer her. "Why don't you ever want me to come over?" I ask. She doesn't reply so I keep going. "You seem uneasy whenever I bring up the topic."
I heard her sigh on the other end as she answered my long-debated question. "Well, I haven't exactly been telling my parents the truth."
"What do you mean?"
"I haven't told them we're dating yet."
"Why not?" Does she think I'm not good enough for her parents?
"Well, when we first started to get to know each other, my parents actually tried to get me to date their friend's son, Jonas, which I rejected obviously, but I still don't think they've given up hope for us yet. Their quite stubborn like that."
"I understand but don't you think we should at least try and tell them?" I now realize why she was so anxious about me going over to her house.
"I guess you're right, but I'm scared of how they'll react. What if they don't accept you, or forbid me to date you?"
"Sounds like some Romeo and Juliet" I say, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, we'll just be rebels and keep dating," she replies mockingly, but something tells me she's not joking.
"Well then I presume now's a better time than ever to break the news to them."
"Fine, I'll be right back, wish me luck. If I don't come back within the next 30 minutes, assume that I died."
I chuckle at her sarcasm as the line went dead.
