Chapter 15-The Reminder

ELEANOR'S POV

As the talent show neared, I'm proud to say that our harmonies and vocals were sounding pretty good. Louis' voice and piano gave me life and our practices were often only half an hour because there were less problems to fix each rehearsal. Today was no different.

"Since we're probably done here, wanna go to the park?"  Louis asked.

"Sure," I replied. We hadn't been out much together. Mostly just hanging indoors because we are modern day teenagers that like to waste their time on the internet so this will be a nice change.

"I hear there's a skate park around here," Louis pointed out, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, you know how to skate?" I asked as he picked up his board.

"Yep," he smiled. "I haven't been skating much this summer and I miss it."

"Wow, I never expected you to be a skater dude," I confess.

We arrive at the skate park and I am amazed as usual by the talent all these kids and teenagers possess. Doing all those flips and tricks with confidence. Oh how I admire them.

"Do you mind if I go and ride for a while?" Louis asked.

"Of course not, that's why I came here in the first place," I said with a 'duh' expression on my face.

"Okay sass queen, calm down now." Louis joked.

"Whatever," I say while rolling my eyes. "I'll wait here."

"Kay, bye!!!" he says with an exaggerated wave and smile. What a silly goose.

I watch him strap his helmet and knee pads on and walk over to the ramp that starts off the obstacle course. I hold my breath as he skates down the first ramp but quickly recollect myself when I see that he is flying through the course. He sails by every ramp and obstacle and does various tricks to conquer them. I notice that many other athletes have stopped to watch his talent.

When he flies by the last obstacle, everyone in the audience claps for him, including me. Seeing as no one is skating, I rush down to congratulate him.

"I had no idea you could do that!" I exclaimed. 

"It's just another one of my hidden talents," he says with a smirk on his face.

"Louis, you dirty boy!" I laugh.

Out of the midst of people, one of the skaters comes to congratulate Louis.

"Good job out there. You are definitely one of the best skaters I've seen." he says.

"Thanks, that means a lot," Louis smiled.

"I organize a skateboard team every year and we compete at various competitions all year round. Would you be interested in joining?" he asks.

Louis face suddenly drops into a sad puppy dog look and says, "Unfortunately, I'm going back to England in a month and a bit."

My heart dropped into my feet. I had completely forgotten he was supposed to leave at the end of summer. 

"Oh I understand, nice meeting you though." he says and rides away.

I look down at my feet and my mind goes blank. I can feel Louis looking at me with the same sad look on his face. He then takes my hand and we exit the skate park. We walk around an actual park that surrounds the skate park in silence, both of us lost in our own thoughts. 10 minutes ago I was happy and joyful but now, I've fallen into an abyss of negative thoughts. I'm going to miss him so much.

LOUIS' POV

After spending so many happy moments with El, I almost forgot I needed to move back. What a reality check. I don't know what to do, she and I have spent too many memories for us to be history. No, I have to cherish every moment I spend with her. 

"El, love?" I say, trying to get her to talk to me. Instead of replying, she just looks up at me. 

"I know you're probably sad about me leaving, but instead of focusing on the future, we should focus on right now. Make as many memories as possible so we can look back on them later on."

She smiles at me, and I know I've convinced her. 

"I love you so much and I'm not gonna let the distance come between us." I say.

"I love you too Louis."

I lean in for a kiss when unexpectedly I hear, "WHAT?? I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME!" It was Harry.

"NO HE LOVES ME!" Liam roared. 

"NIALL, HE'S CHEATING ON ME!" Harry fake cries into Niall's shoulder while Niall awkwardly pats him on the back.

"Yeah, with me," Liam smirks.

I roll my eyes and smile at their stupidity. "Why are you guys always around to ruin my special moments?"

"Because we're briLIAM," Liam said while snapping in a Z-formation. And with that, the three of them sass-walked away from me. 

Since the boys made a grand exit out of the park, El and I decide to leave as well. We walk back to my house and I lead her up into my room. After all the emotions and drama I had just experienced, I just wanted to lie down and relax. I snuggled Eleanor into my arms and gave her a lingering kiss. She fell asleep in my arms and I wouldn't be opposed to a nap right now, so I started to drift away. Right before I disappear into my dreams, I glance at the beautiful girl lying next to me, wrapped in my arms. I'm really going to miss this place.
