A.N. Okay, so I added a sister, her name is Asteria and I will add her to the earlier chapters. I already did the first two chapters so sorry for the inconsistency I just like this a lot better.
I could see Levi's face covered in shadows, taking his knife away.
"What the hell?" I said, walking into the hidden room filled with students from ninth to twelfth. They were all quiet watching me wide eyed.
"What? We're in a vampire invasion. I had to take precautions." He said.
I rolled my eyes. I looked down at everyone else. "Where's Merck?"
"She left, she was going to check on what was happening but never came back." said Poppy, it had been obvious that she had been crying.
"What is going on out there?" asked Asteria.
I took in a deep breath. "Um, vampires are trying to burn this place down."
"What happened to your leg?" asked Levi.
I looked down at it. "I- One of them attacked me. Don't worry though I'm fine."
"How bad is it out there?" asked Cross.
"Do you really want to know?" I asked.
He sighed.
Asteria stood up. "Yes, I do. I need to know."
"There are a lot of them like fifty or sixty? It's not safe, the Guards are having a rough time."
"Should we stay?" She asked me.
I could feel my face turning grim. I looked up at Levi. He had the same expression. "I don't think so." I whispered. "There's so many of them and... there aren't a lot of us."
"You used to say numbered don't count." said Asteria.
"Well, they do sometimes and right now is one of those times." I said. "I don't think it's safe to leave either though."
Asteria bit her lip, crossing her arms. "Then... What do we do?"
"Maybe some of us should go, and we'll message the rest of you when the coast is clear." said Levi.
"Separating?" said Cross. "How can we choose who leave's? And who stays?"
"Think a small group would be best, maybe the first two in each class. We should at least be able to get out enough to get help. Xandra, how far were they?"
"About two hundred meters, give or take."
"Who are you going to go to? The closest school, St. Peters, is fourteen hours away. Even if you contacted them, they're too far away." said Cross.
"They have planes."
"What if they're taking over more than this school?"
"Then, what Cross? Should we stay here until they find us and kill us?" yelled Levi.
"No, of course not but damn if we're going to stay here anyways, we're going to die here anyways."
"We can't all leave they'll notice." I said. "I think the best solution is for a small group to get help. You guys have food, water, just hide here for now. You should be okay for three days at the least."
"If they want to burn this place down, then they don't need to find us." Whispered Poppy.
I looked at them. "Well, it's a good thing I got a protection spell, huh?"
"You mean the one the vampires have obviously broken?" asked Asteria.
"Yeah, like that one. It took them a while to break it though, right? You should be able to stay safe for now, if not there are weapons here too. We're going to get help. I think this is the best option." I said looking up as Levi.
"I'm top of the class, but I'm not good like that I don't think I can do it, I'm not like you." said a Freshmen, Anastasia with a shaking voice. "You guys can call me a coward all you want but this isn't like our practices. This is real. I just now got stabbing though the heart right. I'm not ready."
"Me neither." Said the other Freshman.
"That's okay." I said. "That doesn't make you a coward, that just makes you smart." I said with a small smile.
"If you don't want to go you don't have to." said Levi.
"We want to." said the Seniors. They were a couple, Johnathan and Minnie.
"I don't want to. I'm the second best, only by luck." Said one of the Sophomore's, Haze.
"I want to go." Said the other Sophomore, Fredrick.
"What about you?" I asked Levi.
He just nodded. "And you?"
I nodded. "Yeah. I want to."
"Should we do the protection spell?" He asked.
"You can't, it'll take too long you should leave as soon as possible. I should do it." Said Asteria. "I may be useless every other way, but I can do this."
"You're not useless." I said, walking up to her.
"Well, I not like you. You're all terminator mode, going to save us and stuff. Leaving me here." She said, her eyes watering.
"I don't want to." I whispered.
"I know, and that sucks more." She breathed in. "I'm really good as spells though. Really, I can do it."
I hugged her, squeezing her and putting my face into her dark hair. She hugged me back, tightly.
"Stay alive." She whispered, handing me her wallet.
"Don't do anything reckless." I whispered, putting it in my jeans.
"I won't." She laughed, pulling away. "Now, give me the spell. I need to get started."
I pulled off the book bag, giving her a small bag of ingredients for the spell. Also handing the people in our team's fire spells and the stakes, while Asteria started the spells.
I could feel the burn in my leg and I was a hundred percent sure I would see her again, I just wasn't sure how.
