Chapter Seven

I jump up on the bed. Levi jumped out of the bed, imminently kicking him in the torso. I cross kicked him in the head, his body going limp and falling to the ground.

"That was easier than I thought." Said Levi, looking up at me since I was still on top of the bed.

"How the hell did he get in? There was no noise." I said, after the night we were having I could barely feel the surprise of this visit, jumping up and falling to sit on the bed.

Levi shrugged taking the vamps book bag off his back, and picking him up. I hopped off the bed moving the jackets and the bag from the chair. Using a spare bedsheet we found in a closet we cut it to make it thinner, and tied him up.

Levi checked his bag finding only clothes, no weapons, and no phone. We searched his pockets, only finding a key card to the room.

"It's not safe here." Said Levi.

I nodded agreeing with him, getting my jacket and putting it on.

"Wait." The vampire mumbled.

I jumped. Imminently getting my bow, and aiming the arrow at his heart.

"Look if I were going to kill you I would have done it already. I mean that was only two kicks do you really thing that can knock out a vampire?" He said.

"It was straight to the back of the head, but fine let's say you were pretending to be knocked out. Why were you pretending?"

"Because I didn't want to really get knocked out."

"So, you don't want to kill us?" said Levi.

"Not really, that would be messy and I'm sure Reagan would claw out of her grave to kill me if I did."

"Who are you and why are you here?" I asked.

"Ugh-"

"I said, who are you and why are you here?"

"My name is James, and it was really cold outside so I decided to come in here instead of wasting gas in my car."

"But why are you here?" Levi asked.

"I literally just said I was cold. We get cold too you know? You Guardians always think you're so alive getting cold and everything. I get cold too."

"Look stop fucking around, okay?" I said taking my arrow further back. "You know what we're talking about so stop avoiding the question or I will shoot you."

"She will." Added Levi.

He laid back and smiled. "Fine, fine, my name is really James and I'm serious as to the whole cold thing. I'm here though because I wanted to make sure you were okay. I heard of the attack, and I tracked your sisters card here. I was expected both of you but I'm guessing that you made her stay for her safety."

"How do you know me?"

"You don't remember me?" He asked. "I mean, I did have contacts and stuff but I should look the same?"

"What?"

"I was your mom's best friend; you should remember me. It's only been like eleven years."

My eyes narrowed. "My mom wasn't friends with vampires. She hated them, they killed her."

"Drew killed her. We're not all bad, although I can definitely see why you would think that. After everything that's happened." He said, his voice turning sad. "I went to school with your mom though. Before the whole vampire thing happened. I- She was my best friend. Before she died, I promised I would protect you so here I am. Sort of trying to protect you. I'm glad your sister not her though that would make this five time harder."
