Vienna held Michaels hand, running her thumb along his knuckles. "I want to breathe you in like a vapor. I want to be the one you remember. I want to feel your love like the weather." She softly sang, playing with the ends of his thin hair.
"If I don't look into your eyes, it's almost like a perfect line." Michael sang back, groggily. Vienna laid her head on his chest, listening to his steady heart beat.
"Cause you know you got perfect aim. I wanna feel you in my veins." I traced patterns on his forearm, eyeing the hospital band around his wrist.
"I want to breathe you in like a vapor. I want to be the one you remember. I want to feel your love like the weather." Michael sang into her hair, placing a quick kiss onto her temple.
"I want to print our hands in the pavement. Savor your words, I won't ever waste them. Look in your eyes and know just what you miss." Vienna pressed herself against him, wanting to feel his warmth against her.
"You sound so sweet, when you lie to me." He whispered.
Michael and Vienna had been in the hospital for over a week, waiting it out. They've constantly been serenading one another, trying to pass the time before Michael would go.
"Knock knock." Calum called, walking into the private hospital room. "Bad timing?" He smiled.
"It's fine. Been waiting for you to finally make an appearance." Michael chuckled.
"I couldn't stand to see you in pain." Calum admitted. "It's hard seeing your best friend in a hospital bed, dying right in front of him."
"I understand." Michael said. "I'm just glad that you grew some balls to come see me." He joked. Calum smiled, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"I'm going to miss you, Mikey." Calum whispered, looking into his dull eyes that were no longer vibrant.
"I'm going to miss you more, Cal." Michael said, giving him a smile. "Where's Luke?" He asked.
"Luke's outside of the room right now. He didn't think that you'd want him to come in." Calum said.
Michael chuckled, leaning his cheek against the top of Vienna's head. "Of course I want to see him. Just because he has a thing for Vienna doesn't mean that I don't want to see him before I die." He laughed. "He's still my best friend."
Vienna leaned more into him, wanting to be as close as possible to him. She wanted to feel his heart beat and the way his hair tickled her nose.
Luke walked in with his head down. He walked towards Calum, standing beside him as Michael cleared his throat. "I already know about your thing for Vienna, so don't be awkward about it around me." He said, eyeing Luke up and down. "When I'm gone, I want you to take care of her. I want you to love her as much as possible. She's complicated and gets agitated sometimes, but it's probably for a good reason." Michael chuckled.
Luke looked at Michael, wondering why he was saying this stuff to him. He also wondered why Vienna wasn't making any comments. Maybe she just wanted Luke to hear what Michael had to say.
"Vienna hates being tickled, but she loves neck kisses." Vienna playfully hits his chest, making Michael chuckle. "She will adore you as long as you adore her. She'll make you soup when you're sick. She'll massage your back when you're in pain. She'll want you to make love to her when she's having a stressful day of college work. She'll keep you smiling as long as you keep her laughing."
Luke looked over at Vienna who was smiling up at Michael. He knew that her love for him was endless. Luke knew that Vienna would never love him as much as she loves Michael, but he didn't mind. He'd learn to live with it.
"Please, please promise me that you won't leave her alone like I had done." Michael said, looking down at a very upset Vienna.
"I promise." Luke whispered.
