Ten years later...
I had something old, something new and something borrowed but I didn't have something blue. I was frantically searching through my jewellery to find something blue when I remembered the little blue bracelet Jordan had given me when it was our three year anniversary of dating at high school. The bracelet was blue and it had a little heart charm with a small diamond implanted in the centre just above my name which was engraved into the pure silver heart. The heart represented our pure love for each other.
'It had been three whole years since we started dating and Jordan had planned something that I didn't know about. I had gotten ready for this date all I needed to do was straighten my hair. After 15 minutes I had finished straightening my hair and I got a text from Jordan telling me to go outside. I grabbed my phone and purse and rushed to the door.
"Mum I'm going out" I told my mum
"Sure be back by curfew" she replied before I shut the door. I walked across to the nearest cafe where Jordan had promised to meet me. The snow crunched under my snow boots leaving a trail behind me. I looked into the distance and sure enough there he was. All dressed and ready for my surprise. We held hands and walked together into the cafe where we found a warm and cozy seat just for the two of us. I ordered a small latte and Jordan got the same. It was more quiet than usual and Jordan looked really disorganised and nervous. This was starting to make me feel nervous too. I felt as if he was going to break up with me. But that thought was brushed a meat when he pulled out a tiny box from his pocket. He opened it and said. "Kate, we have been dating for almost three years now. So I decided to give you this small gift." It was a little blue bracelet with a silver heart. The heart held a diamond and underneath it was my name engraved into the heart. I loved it. It was beautiful. I couldn't stop thanking him! I suddenly felt really emotional and started to cry. But not of sadness... Joy! Jordan gave me a hug and whispered, "This makes me feel like we are a bride and groom. It makes me feel so happy." I looked at him in the eyes and turned his face to mine. He leaned in close and our lips brushed each other's. Then we-""Kate? You ready? Have you found something blue?" My mum was excited for my wedding. I always had to remind her to clam down a bit because it was something Kyle had already gone through. "Yes mum I found something blue." I answered as I slipped the bracelet on. It matched perfectly with my wedding dress. I looked at the time and realised it was nearly time for the wedding. I hurried to the entrance to the aisle and stood nervously next to my dad. He gave me a comforting smile and I forced a smile back.
"You ready sweetie?"
I stared down at my wedding dress and the blue bracelet.
"Yeah... I think so." As soon as I finished my sentence, the distant melody of the entrance song to a wedding filled my ears. The doors opened and I stepped in. Flower petals fluttered through the air and landed on the aisle. At the end of the aisle was Jordan. So ready and cute. My veil was lifted by Jordan as he gave me a huge smile. The wedding went on just as it should be and in the end we walked together across the aisle. People cheered. My mum and dad were both in tears.
Once we had made it outside, Jordan looked at me in the eyes and whispered. "Great job!" I gave him back a smile. "Do you think it's going to be a girl or a boy?" Jordan asked.
"Already? your asking me this already?" I replied.
"Yep!"
"Well I think it's going to be a girl."
"What do you think her name will be?""Umm... I think... Heather."
