Betrayed?

I trudged home after another day at school but this time I was excited because I had something to look forward to at home. I sped up my pace to a run and soon enough I had reached home.

"Mum, I'm home!"
"How was school sweetie?"
"It was great! And guess what? There is another art competition!"
"Let me guess you're going to enter too?"
"Of course!"
"Ok good luck honey!"

Full of energy I ran upstairs to my room my head full of ideas for the competition. I planned my scene on my notebook and all the colours I would use.

Soon enough all my ideas were on my notebook and I had already started sketching on my canvas just the faint outlines of the scene. However time had sped so fast it was already dinner.

"Kate! Time for dinner! It's your favourite pizza!"
"Coming mum!"

I shot down the staircase to get my favourite spot on the dining table. But something stopped me on my tracks. My brother Kyle. He was on my spot. He knew it was my spot. This was it. He had done this before and I was not going to let it happen again. I imagined Jordan's face on my brother and started shouting and screaming at him. My mum laughed and told my brother to go sit on his own chair.

Kyle sniggered as he left the seat slowly and walked slowly to his chair. I really wish to have a sister than a brother. But there is also cute little Krystal. She makes up for all the annoyance from my brother. She's quiet and only cries of she's tired or hungry. Just looking at her makes me happy.

I ate my pizza with my family and dad made really corny jokes while we ate. Only Kyle laughed while mum just shook her head.

Once dinner was finished I continued with my artwork and in the end of the day I had all ready finished the background and I only needed to add the animals and trees and mountains.

Every day I added more and more to the painting and soon enough I had finished and I still had two weeks left! I decided to call Jenny to let her take a look at my art work so I grabbed my phone and called her. She picked up but what she said wasn't what I expected.

"Hey Jen! Can you come to my house? You can take a look at the painting."
"Uhh, I promised to meet Luke at the cafe today at five..." My heart sank.
"Well it's four thirty right now... So..."
"Come to your house?"
"Yeah!!!" I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.

Then she hung up. She did not just do that.

Bzzzzz Bzzzz I got a message! From Jenny...

'Sorry...' That was all Jenny said? She could've come for just ten minutes and all she says is sorry?

I thought it was sisters before misters. I guess betrayals that easy...
