Emily's POV

"Marshall is at the door." Vanessa says beeping him in. "Oh my God. I'm so nervous." I say and she laughs

"Relax." She says opening the door. "Can't believe he was gone a whole year." Shane says as I sit down on the couch.

"You've gone pale." Vanessa says and I hear Marshall's voice. "Theres no sun there thats why. God, I missed LA weather." He says walking in.

"Marshall." Shane says. "What up English boy."

"I ate fish and chips a good 3 months so I'm English now." He laughs hugging them both. I get up and to hug him but he picks me up slightly kissing my cheek.

"We'll hang out yeah?" Shane says and Vanessa grabs her jacket. "Yeah, laters." Marshall says as they both leave.

"How long you been back?"

"Came this morning. Dylan, Noah and I went to play golf." He says and I chuckle.

"I'm so happy you're back home." I say and he chuckles pulling me to his lap. "So am I." He says kissing my lips.

"Come with me."

"Where?"

"To the beach house for the weekend."

"What? Now?" I ask and he nods. "Yeah. Get ready." He says and I look at him. Why not? I get up and he slaps my behind as I do. "Marshall." I squeel making him laugh. I liked this. Playful. Surpriseful. Charming Marshall. He might have his issues but he my Marshall.

I get ready as soon as possible. I wanted it to be right so I packed what I needed. Marshall takes my bag as we head on this road trip.

"I brought you food." He says and I open the bag after doing my seatbelt. It had all my favorite snacks in it.

"Thanks babe." I say and he smiles. He tells me stories about England and his university experience and working at a law firm.

"Did you know Romeo and Freya broke up?"

"No when?" He asks and I tell him what I heard from my heart broken little sister.

"Stefan told me they kissed."

"Thats fucked up." I say putting my feet on the dashboard. "He knew she had a boyfriend why is he kissing her?"

"He really liked her I guess." Marshall says defending his new friend. "She took over Pyramid Records last week. She's doing good. Dads really proud of her. She's hosting this charity event for young mothers with no support."

"She's doing good." Marshall says as he focused on the road.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask when he is quiet for a while.

"How I've missed you. A year made me realise a lot. There is nobody else that I wanna be with." He says and I bite my lower lip. I felt the same way. I was just still a bit hurt how it was so easy for us to fall out and barely speak a whole year.

"I liked my birthday gift." I say and he chuckles.

"I remembered how upset you were. I had to explain myself first."

"How did you even get to speak to the busiest designer on earth?" I chuckle.

"I got it through Tasha."
