Once, there was a girl. She was 15 years old at home quietly reading a book. As she read, her great-grandma called to her that she would be outside watering the plants. When her great-grandma didn't come back in thirty minutes she got worried. So she put down her book and headed outside.
What if Mamita got hurt? What will I do? If Mamita is being hurt by someone, I don't know enough karate to fight them. I only just turned 15! she thought.
Quietly, she walked through the fields. When she got to her great-grandma, she saw her lying on the ground.
"Run, save yourself mi hija!" she whispered.
The girl could not get herself to move. It was as if someone had taken control of her body, commanding her not to. Then a man that seemed to be made of darkness appeared from the house. She couldn't see his face no matter how hard she tried. But she would never forget how he was wearing all black.
The man sneered, "Oh look. What a happy family reunion! A Great-grandma, with their grandchild. How lovely."
The girl stammered, trying to stay strong, "S-stay a-a-away from u-us."
"Oh it's not you I'm worried about. It's your great-grandma. Or so she has said."
The man said casually. Ignoring the girl's whimpers, he turned to face the older woman.
"Hello sister," he snarled, "How nice it was of you to leave me. In the forest all alone with no help. All because you were scared."
The older woman struggled to her feet and said, "I only left you because you were a monster!"
"I was a child! I HAD NO CONTROL OVER MY POWERS!" the man of darkness shouted. "I didn't mean to kill all of those people, I just lost control!"
With that said, he lunged to the woman with a knife outstretched.
"NO!" the girl screamed, her open palms facing him.
Golden sparks flew out, then into the woods.
"That is what you try to defeat me with? How pitiful." the man continued and just as he was going to plunge the knife into the woman's stomach, a pack of wolves sprinted out of the woods, following the golden light. The biggest one, a gray wolf with what looked like a sprained paw, leaped from the undergrowth and slammed into the man, claws outstretched. The man screamed in pain as the wolf's claws sunk into his shoulder.
"Child come, we must leave this man of darkness," the old woman said.
The child protested, "Mamita, no! What if he hurts the wolves?"
As if on cue, the gray wolf was smacked away, yelping in pain.
"I am so sorry, Camilia," the woman said.
She looked at her child wistfully, then turned and sprinted away from the fight. Then the man simply waved his hand upwards, then all of the light was blotted out. Everything looked like pure darkness. Frightened and shocked, the child fell to the ground and started shaking. She thought she saw a light form on her hand, before everything went black.
