As the unlikely pair walked down to the spring, Camilia decided to ask Midna something.
"Hey Midna, can you explain to me.. what exactly is Twilight?"
"Twilight is a separate realm... where my people live. Your normal world, the Light, is just one realm. My world, the Twilight, is another realm. The man of darkness that you saw was the person who put me in this body and stole my heir to the throne. He destroyed the light and put the twilight here instead," Midna said, being careful not to reveal too much.
"What is the man's name?"
Midna said carelessly, "All in good time. Now look, there's the passage to the spirit's spring!"
Midna hopped on Camilia's back to ride her.
"Hey!" Camilia barked, "Get off of me!"
Laughing, Midna ignored her and said, "We'll move faster if I ride you, so that you don't have to wait for me."
Grumbling, Camilia straightened up and realized that Midna weighed almost nothing. Trotting forward, as soon as she crossed an invisible barrier completely, black spikes were plunged into the ground. Whipping around in surprise, Camilia noticed that the black spikes had red lines running through them, and seemed to be creating a wall around them. A portal opened up above them, and three black monsters fell out of it. Surrounding her, the monsters started to circle her. They had a flat circle for a head, with little spikes sticking out of the top of their head, with four legs and black with red lines running through them.
Midna giggled and hopped off of Camilia's back and floated away from her, to the edge of the circle.
"Hehehe, let's see how you do finishing these creatures off. Using your wolf body is just like using your human body. Just bite and claw them!" Midna said giggling.
"No wait--" Camilia was cut off roughly by having to duck in order to dodge a swing at her head.
"Go! Fight!" Camilia heard Midna's voice as if she was underwater.
She was busy thinking about a strategy. Moving quickly, she managed to draw out a monster from the rest. Going towards the wall, she made the creature swing at her, then zipped out of the way, causing the creature to smack the wall. The creature made a strangled noise, but seemed uninjured.
The wall didn't hurt him at all like I thought it would. What to do now...
With a sudden idea, she did the same thing again, but instead of letting the wall hurt him, she dodged, then latched onto his back and bit, clawed and scratched him as hard as she could. She let out a low snarl, bared her teeth, and sank them into it's neck. Letting out a strangled scream, the creature fell to the ground. Suddenly, she was picked up and thrown against the wall. Howling in surprise, she scrambled to her feet, just managing to dodge the second creature's swipe at her. As the creature attempted to strike her again, Camilia swiped the hand out of the way, causing the creature to lose it's balance. Using its momentary distraction, she lunged forward and repeated what she did to the other monster, and killed it.
One more--
All of a sudden, the remaining monster let out a blood-curling scream. It was as if someone had frozen her, she couldn't move no matter how hard she tried. After the awful scream stopped, the two monsters she had killed came back to life.
Wha... what? How..? That scream must have brought the other two monsters back to life! So how do I kill them...
"HEY!"
Camilia was jolted out of her brainstorming state. Starting to panic, Camilia looked for any way to escape this circle of doom.
"HEY COME OVER HERE NOW!"
Camilia's head snapped to the source of the shout. She saw Midna using her hair to beckon her over.
"GET OVER HERE NOW!" Midna cried.
Dodging the monsters, she ran up to Midna.
Panting, she asked Midna, "What?"
Midna got on Camilia's back and said, "UGH! You people don't know how to do ANYTHING! I'll help you defeat them. I'll put up a force field whenever you want me to. Just bark."
"A force field?"
"Yes.. well not a force field. When I do my special move, It will be hard to move, but try to get all three monsters in the force field. When you do, I'll release it, and you will have a burst of agility and strength and will be able to kill all three of them with one hit each, before the last one can scream."
Confused, Camilia just decided to go along with it. Camilia barked, symbolizing that she was ready to fight. She ran in the middle of them, and barked again, alerting Midna to try out the force field. Midna grunted, and her hair stood up and looked as if it was a fist. A circle formed around Camilia with orange electricity forming a circle. This was clearly draining Midna of her strength.
Two of the monsters were in the circle, one was four steps away. "H-hurry up!" Midna grunted. When Camilia tried to move, it felt like an elephant was sitting on her. Struggling, she just managed to get the other monster in the circle, barked "NOW!", and Midna released the force field. Camilia felt like she was quicker than a cheetah, yet the strongest animal on Earth. Leaping at the first monster, she killed him with one swipe of her paw. Then she leapt at the next one, killing it just as easily. Finally, she landed and with a snarl, jumped and killed the final monster before it could even take a breath in to scream. Landing, she slid and whipped around, just in time to see the monsters explode into black squares, outlined with in green. The black squares floated up to the sky and replaced the red and black portal to a green and black portal. Midna noticed that Camilia was still pretty tense and said, "Calm down. No more of those Twilight creatures will fall out of the portal."
Calming down, Camilia glanced around, shrugged and continued on her way.
