When everyone awoke, Zelda told Link about Midna's feelings and they agreed to tell her the next morning. When Midna rose, Link began to walk over to her. Putting on a poker face, Midna faced him.

"I have something to tell you," Link said, looking at her evenly in the eye.

Walking up to them so that she was beside them, Zelda added, "Yes... we have something to tell you." Her gaze darting from one to the other, Midna nodded.

"Well, what is it?" Midna attempted to keep her voice hard and emotionless, but Zelda detected a small waver in her tone.

Did she see us? Does.. does she already know?

Tuning back into reality, Zelda heard Link say, "Well... Zelda and I are... together."

Midna turned her face away from them and quietly replied, "I know. I saw you two yesterday." Turning her woeful gaze to Zelda, she added, "I assume you told him about my feelings?"

Zelda nodded and replied, "Yes.. since we are.. something.. I feel that we shouldn't keep secrets... unless absolutely necessary."

Midna simply nodded and said with fake cheerfulness, "Well you two make a good couple... better than I would have ever been with Link," she added softly.

Zelda put her hand on Midna's shoulder and said, "Thank you for accepting this."

Midna smiled and said, "It wouldn't have worked out for me anyway." Looking behind her, Midna added, "Now let's wake up the wolf and continue on our way to the twilight."

When Faolan was awakened, the group started again on their way to the twilight.

"She knew?" Link said suddenly, facing Zelda.

"Yeah.. Kinda weird to think that someone was there... watching us as we.. you know.." Zelda blushed, remembering the past night. Link smirked and arched an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue. "When we--" Link cut her off my leaning in close to her.

"When I did this?" Link asked, closing the gap between them and placing his lips on hers.

They were interrupted by Faolan clearing his throat and saying, "Ahem. Wolf watching. Please refrain yourselves from eating each other's faces in front of me." Zelda reluctantly pulled away and glared at Faolan. He gave her an innocent look and said, "What? You guys can make out whenever you like, just not in front of me."

Link burst out in laughter and replied, "I'd hardly call that 'making out'. I'll be glad to demonstrate 'making out' if you'd like..." Link trailed off and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

Faolan lifted his two front paws off the ground and covered his eyes saying, "No, no, no!" Both Zelda and Link collapsed in laughter at Faolan's reaction.

Sweeping Zelda into his arms, Link murmured in her ears, "I'd still be happy to demonstrate later..."

Well, Link certainly is confident...

"Ahem." Everyone's laughter died down as they say Midna glaring at them. "Can we continue to the twilight without getting off track?" Midna snarled. Zelda glanced at her worriedly, but nodded.

"Sorry," Zelda muttered before turning around to continue on their way. Midna snorted and disappeared into her shadow.

When they reached the wall of twilight, Zelda stopped and thought about what was going to happen.

When I get in there, I'll be a wolf again. Midna won't stay in my shadow anymore so...what does that mean for Link and I? What about Faolan?

Zelda turned and gazed at Faolan.

He'll turn into a spirit! He doesn't have any power so--

Zelda's thoughts were cut off when she realized that Faolan had asked something.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. What'd you say?" Zelda asked him.

Faolan rolled his eyes and repeated, "Why'd you stop? And why were you staring at me?"

"Oh, I was just wondering...what will happen to you when we enter the twilight?" Zelda replied. Faolan's brows furrowed as he thought about her question.

"I suppose that I'll become a spirit," Faolan said.

"Not necessarily."

Zelda and Faolan turned to face Midna. She continued before the others interrupted her.

"If Zelda lent some of her power to Faolan, he could stay how he is now in the twilight. However, Zelda would be noticeably weaker." Midna turned to Zelda. "Are you willing to give up some strength for Faolan to be able to stay with us?" Zelda nodded and turned to face Faolan completely. Midna wordlessly watched the pair.

"Okay...so I have no idea what I am doing, but I hope that it's right," Zelda said. She placed her two hands on Faolan's head. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She imagined a golden string connecting her and Faolan, then pictured that her energy flowed through that string into Faolan. She felt her hands warm up. She focused and poured even more energy into Faolan. After a few seconds, she slowly opened her eyes and removed her hands. Faolan opened his eyes as well and gazed into Zelda's blue ones. Zelda clasped her hands together and asked Faolan, "Well...do you feel any different?" Faolan breathed out.

"Woah...I feel...energized," Faolan finished. They both released a breathy laugh of nervousness before Zelda's knees buckled and everything went black.
