"Zelda!" Link shouted before catching her. He looked at her before whispering to her, "Zelda...come on...I'll protect you...just please wake up.." Her mouth was slightly agape and Link's gaze dropped to it. Gently, he touched his mouth to hers for a few tender moments.

"Relax. She's fine," Midna said, a bit of venom in her tone. "Her exhaustion caught up to her in a wave, causing her body to give out. She'll come to in a few minutes." Link gazed up to Midna and silently nodded.

"Umm, Midna?" Link asked.

"What?" Midna spat.

"Would you mind if we waited here until she comes to?" Link hesitantly asked.

Midna pursed her lips and replied, "Not like we have much of a choice." Before Link could say anything, she disappeared into Zelda's shadow. Link sighed and gently set Zelda down on the ground.

"What was that about?" Faolan murmured. He glanced at Link then added, "Why's Midna acting like a cranky-pants?"

"While you were sleeping this morning, we told Midna about how Zelda and I are now together... and Midna had feelings for me... and it kinda broke her heart," Link sighed. "I just hope she'll feel better soon cause we can't do this without her," Link finished.

"Well--" Faolan was cut off my Zelda sitting up slowly and grunting.

"Zel--" Link was then also cut off by Midna coming out of Zelda's shadow.

"Finally! Had enough, Sleeping Beauty? Let's go." Midna hissed. Before Zelda could process the aching, tiredness in her body, Midna floated through the portal and snatched all three of them in her hair and yanked them through.

When they reached the other side, both Zelda and Link had transformed into their wolf forms. They both looked at each other, then at Faolan. Midna then hopped onto Zelda's back.

"Let's go," Midna growled. Zelda, however, turned around, looking for Faolan.

"Where's Faolan? Shouldn't he be here?" Zelda barked.

"Right over here!" Faolan shouted. Finding the source of the sound, Zelda saw Faolan behind a rock. "I landed over here." Zelda glanced over to him and was extremely relieved that Faolan looked exactly the same as he did in the light realm. "Woah, you guys are wolves too!" Faolan yipped happily. "Zelda, your fur is so soft and golden!" He then dashed over to Link. "Your fur looks exactly like Zelda's except it's grayish-blackish!" Faolan laughed and rolled onto his back.

"He's delirious from being in the Twilight Realm as a normal wolf, not a spirit. It'll wear off in a few minutes," Midna muttered to them. "I recommend getting a move on." Link glanced at Zelda and she shrugged.

Turning to Faolan, she said, "C'mon Faolan, let's go." Faolan immediately hopped back onto his paws and dashed ahead. Rolling her eyes, Zelda chuckled and padded onwards. As she trotted after him, she noticed the black monsters that she saw last time. "Faolan, wait!" In the small moment he hesitated to glance backward, Zelda bounded forward. "There's--" Zelda then tripped over something and rolled straight into them. Before she could react, the walls closed in.

Oh no...

Zelda desperately backed away from the shadow beasts closing in on her. As if she was underwater, her chest felt constricted.

"Midna, why'd you trip her?!" Zelda faintly heard Link shout.

"Revenge! She deserves it! After all, SHE STOLE YOU FROM ME!" Midna snarled back. The shadow beasts drew closer and she began to panic. She closed off her hearing and focused on her issue here.

Okay, there are three here. So... I can kill one straight away then smash the other two's throats at the same time!

Ignoring how impossible that sounded, Zelda bounded forward and landed on top of one of the monsters. Snarling, she sank her teeth into the creature's throat. Ripping it out, the creature let out a bloodcurdling shriek and died. Spitting the beast's throat out of her mouth, she barked at the shadow beasts.

"Come and get me!"

They both screeched and swiped at her. Seizing her chance, she growled and sank her claws into the thing's arms. Crying in pain, the creatures attempted to tackle her. "Bad idea, beasts!" Zelda growled before ducking and allowing the shadow creatures to slam heads. Taking an advantage of their confusion, she howled and tackled them onto each other. She then slammed her paws as hard as she could on one, then sank her jaws into the other's throat before it could scream and revive the others. It let out a hoarse breath before exploding into the green-black squares.

"Phew."

The barriers flew upwards and a portal opened above them.

"Zelda!" Zelda was tackled by Link, now staring into her eyes. "You're okay!" he breathed a sigh of relief. "I would kiss you, but that'd be awkward as a wolf." Zelda laughed and gently pushed him off of her.

"Are you guys okay?" Faolan jogged over to them and gazed into Zelda's eyes.

"Yeah... I'm good."

"Good." Before Faolan could continue, Midna floated over.

"Before you open those big jaws again, let me say something," Midna said, holding out her hand and gesturing for Faolan to quiet down. "Okay... so..Zelda. I tripped you back there, causing you to fall into the shadow beasts grasp. I'm really sorry about doing that... I was really jealous about you and Link--"

"No kidding," Faolan muttered.

"Shut up and let me speak," Midna snapped. Faolan rolled his eyes and gestured for her to continue. "So, yeah. When I tripped you, I was kinda hoping you'd injure yourself so that Link could cry on my shoulder and realize how I'm the one who belongs with him." Midna paused. "Now that I say that out loud, I realize how ridiculous that sounds. I put you in serious trouble, and you could've died. I'm really, truly sorry." Midna gazed at her feet. "Could you ever forgive me?"

"No."

Midna recoiled as if she had slapped her. Both Link and Faolan gave her incredulous looks.

"I'm kidding!" Zelda grinned and put her hand on Midna's shoulder. "Of course I forgive you! I can't say that I would go as far as to injure- maybe kill- someone for their boyfriend, but I would definitely feel the same way. So everything's good." Midna grinned back and hopped onto Zelda's back. "I'd continue, except that the bridge is missing," Zelda said to Midna.

"Ugh," Midna groaned. "Okay, so here's the deal. You see that portal up there?" Midna gestured to the thing that the dead shadow beasts created. Everyone nodded. "I can transport us through the light and twilight world through those, but only if you're in wolf form. So, we can go look for the bridge in the light world, since that's where it probably is. Once we find it, I can warp it back over here and put it into its place," Midna finished.

"Cool. What are we waiting for?" Zelda joked. Midna grinned at her.

"Alright, let's go." With that, they were warped into the light world.
