The First Encounter

Chapter 2.

Both of them bent down to pick up the things and bumped their heads.
Aaah. There they go.

Nandini quickly picks up her stuff and the tall guy gets up with a smirk and leaves without uttering a word.

Oh God, what's happening. I am already late and now this. Please save me today, Nandini murmured do herself.

She inquired at the reception about her interview.

Receptionist: Sorry ma'am. You are late. Mr. Malhotra left for a meeting.

Nandini hurled abuses at herself mentally.

But the receptionist continued and said
So your interview will be taken by Cabir sir.
He will be there in 10 mins. Please wait in the lounge till then.

Hearing this Nandini's happiness had no boundaries.

Nandini thanked her aaiyappa (South Indian deity) and sat in the lounge waiting.

*FLASHBACK*

After the encounter with Nandini. The tall guy, none other than Mr. Manik Malhotra, entered his cabin with a face turned red.
He found cabir sitting there doing something on his laptop.
(Quick Intro: Cabir: Manik's best buddy, more like family. He also works at Malhotra Industries.)

Cabir saw Manik fuming in anger and sensed something is wrong and he started talking to Manik about work things to divert his mind.

During the conversation, he recalled that he had called a girl for an interview for the post of Manik's Personal Assistant.

He told Manik about it but Manik was least interested and said: "No Cabir, I am not taking any interview." Cabir didn't force him because he knew the consequences and he said
"Alright, buddy. You go chill at home for today. I will finish this work and join you soon.

Manik was in another zone altogether and decided to go by his advice. He left soon after.

Meanwhile, Nandini was waiting in the lounge reading some magazines.
After some time the receptionist called her and said
"Ma'am cabir sir is here, he has called you in his cabin, go straight and then take a right. All the best."

Nandu thanked her and prayed aaiyappa once again before entering the cabin.

As she entered.
She greeted cabir, "Good morning sir"
Cabir replied
Good morning
"Miss...?
Nandini Murthy, she said.
Oh yes, come have a seat.

Cabir: So you are late for the interview.

Nandini: Starts explaining nervously.

(Cabir takes her interview and tells her that she will be informed about the job soon)

Nandini leaves the office and heads back home.

This girl seems interesting. She will be perfect for Manik, Cabir thought while analysing Nandini.
(Cabir informs the receptionist and tells her to contact Nandu and ask her to join from tomorrow.)

Cabir left to join Manik.

To calm himself down Manik called for a party at this house. The Fab 5 party
(Fab 5: The infamous band of 5 people who were lifelines for each other. Manik, Mukti, Cabir, Alya, Dhruv. Singing and sticking by together since school to forever.)

When Cabir reached Manik's house everyone was chilling and chatting.

Mukti saw cabir and jumped on him.
Where were you? asked Mukti.
I was busy with work, he answered.

Mukti: Manik what have you turned Cabir into?
Manik: I have done nothing, don't blame it on me.
Alya: Common Mukti, we have met after so long let's have a great Jamming session.

Dhruv: Good Idea.

And all of them headed towards the terrace.
Cabir on drums, Mukti on electric guitar, Dhruv on guitar.
Alya on piano and Manik with the guitar on the lead.

Manik looked at everyone and started singing their song, the one they loved the most.
Yaaron Dosti badi hi haseen hai, yeh na ho toh kya fir bolo yeh Zindagi hai?

And they sang away to glory, laughing and ending the day on a beautiful note.
