 Chapter 9

It was another day,

Nandini was still reeling under the shock of yesterday's happenings, but she somehow got out of bed and decided to start her normal day. She ran to the office and reached Manik's cabin.

Nandini was nervous,
'Should I bring up the topic? Should I thank or just be professional?' Thought a confused Nandini

She knocked on his door but got no response. She knocked a few more times but eventually opened the door herself and to her surprise, Manik was not present.

She went to reception and enquired about him, where she got to know that he won't be coming today.

That should be happy news for Nandini but didn't feel nice about it. Something pinched.

She went to Navya and informed her about the news.

Oh my God, that's so great. Is a day free of Manik Malhotra, aren't you happy? Exclaimed Navya

Nandini didn't know what to say, but she agreed

Let's take a half-day and go watch a movie, we need to make the most of Monster freedom, suggested Navya.

Nandini just smiled and nodded.

Manik was at his house, waiting for Fab5 to arrive.

The first thing, he did after waking up was to call them home for a surprise, he couldn't wait to share the Album news with the rest of them. It was a really big moment for all of them.

Mukti was the first one to reach there.

"Manik, why would you wake us up so early? What's the big surprise, that couldn't wait? I just came home from a party" said a sleepy Mukti.

Dhruv, Alia, and Cabir too walked in

Yes Manik, now reveal it already, screamed Dhruv and Alia

Manik walked teasing them and Cabir joined him.

And the rest three walked behind them with their pouty faces.

Manik poured a few drinks, making Mukti, Aliya and Dhruv all the more impatient

Manik was really excited about this thing.

They started jamming and writing songs.

It was around mid-afternoon that Cabir announced a break.

So while deciding what to order and binging on chips.

Cabir casually said 'Manik, your New PA'

What happened to her? Manik asked in a reflex

What? No, nothing happened. I was just asking.

Manik, you kept a New PA? asked Mukti

When? You didn't tell us? Is she hot? Teased Aliya

Guys, calm down. I didn't keep her. Cabir did. Please ask your details to him. I have no interest, Manik brushed off the topic

Interesting, when can I see her Cabir? Mukti asked with an evil grin

I have a plan, exclaimed Dhruv

Oh my God, Dhruv has a plan, we are totally doing this. Aliya was all enthusiastic

And all of them started laughing. While Manik silently stood in the corner.

Dhruv quickly explains his plan to all of them and they are all set to have some fun.

The first step, Cabir texts Nandini

It reads "Manik is unwell, so he can't come to the office, but some urgent stuff came up, drop by his house to discuss it in around half-hour."

Nandini and Navya had just stepped out of the office and Nandini's phone beeped

Nandini showed it to Navya with a sad face

I have to go to Manik sir's house now, that means we have to cancel our plan.

I am so sorry, Navya.

It's okay, we'll plan it someday later. Now I am going to go home and take a nice nap, while you go deal with the monster. Have fun, said Navya laughing.

Nandini just made a puppy face

Aww, come here. All the best, Navya hugged her Goodbye

Nandini took a cab to Manik's house

And on her way, she thought about the text.

He is not well, oh god. Is it because of yesterday's fight? He had bad bruises.

And there we go, Nandini went on a guilt trip of her own, while Fab 5 was eagerly waiting for her arrival.

But why am I concerned? He is a monster, thought Nandini.

Meanwhile, Fab 4 were all set to execute their plan

Manik, don't you have a fever, asked Cabir

What? Are you mad? No, shouted Manik

All four of them just grabbed him and put him on the bed and blackmailed him into lying there.

Manik, don't you dare spoil it okay? Warned Mukti

Manik just nodded and facepalmed, as they left the room

Oh god, I hope they don't do anything extreme, thought a worried Manik

But why do I care? That stupid girl. My friends just want to have some fun.

Fab 4 hid and everyone waited

Nandini reached the house and rang the bell.

Oh finally, Mukti was excited

Ssh, Mukti, scolded Aliya.

A house help guided Nandini to Manik's room

Oh god, please save me. I hope nothing goes wrong, Nandini prayed as she walked to his room.

Nandini knocked on the door, there was no answer again.

She knocked a few more times and waited for an answer.
