The Witch in the River

Chapter 14

Marynel's POV

While Dave and Mikhail is away,I help Lana to gather some of the wild berries around the surroundings of Candour's palace.
She eat so much!.....She said that she is hungry but we just eat awhile ago.That's why we are here looking for berries to fill her sumptuous craving.

Hey!Marynel I found lots of wild berries in here.Lana called out from afar as I hoist my self up carrying a basket half full of different berries that I have picked and make my way to her.

Marynel!...come follow my voice..... A melodic voice called out for me out of nowhere.It continuously calling me,that makes me forgot about Lana and followed were the voice is going to take me.

I walk following the trail taking a left turn then I heard the flowing water from afar.

My feet leads me to a river where I found the source of the voice.Base on how she dressed and what she look like I know that she is a witch.But she is not one of those witch that is with us.She looks peculiar and their is this pricking sensation that I felt as I get near where she stood then it dawned to me as I gasp putting my hands on my mouth.

She is not just an ordinary witch.She is one of those powerful old witch that lives for thousands of millennium.And its seldom appeared for so long they didn't show them selves,making us believe that their existence ceased to live a long time ago.

I stared at it afraid that it might cause me harm.As I take a step backward with caution, eyeing it as it spoke.

Fear me not child! I have come to foretell thy future.She uttered rising her hand in front of me.

Born to be filled with agony and sorrow,rise as a Luna of the wolves.Yeah shall bear a child that soon will be known as the strongest Alpha that will ever walk the earth.Fulfill the oracle and thy shall obtain the Gods favor.

The witch uttered eyes glowing as her voice is not of herself but of someone of ethereal forebodings.

I don't understand thy word yeah hath uttered.You spoke of the future that I not yet,have seen!....with mine own eyes.How can I believe this to be of true bearing.

I was so consumed with her words that I fail to notice Lana is already at my back.

Hey!what are you doing in here I've been looki'n for you for about an hour now.She said worried etched on her face.As she lay her hand on top of my shoulder.

I turn around to face her and gave her an apologetic look.

I'm sorry for making you worried about my safety I was just talking to.......I did not finished what I was about to tell her as I look back at the river the witch is no longer there.She is gone with the wind as it blows to the west.

Excuse me......talking to who?I can't see anyone around her but me and you.She retorted giving me a confused expression.

She's gone!....the witch she was there standing in the water,I said pointing at the river and she's telling me something about the future and said that I was to be favored by the Gods if I did what I was told to do.I told her,to fill her with knowledge of what happen when she is not around.

Ok!....so you're telling me that there is a witch,where is she now?She ask looking around trying to look for any sign that the witch is still here.When she didn't saw any sign of it,she thug my hand and drag me out of the river.

Stay close to me,we don't know what danger we are facing in here.Let's get back to the palace.I have a bad feeling about that witch you saw.

I silently followed her as we head back to the palace thinking about what that witch had told me.
