Shut Up and Dance

This one is based off the song "Shut up and Dance" by Walk the Moon.
This is an AU. They are in high school with no demigod life. Here it goes.

Music started to play in the room. Percy and Annabeth smiled at each other. Annabeth grabbed his hand and pulled him to the dance floor.

"Um, Annabeth? I can't dance. You know that," Percy says.

"Then I'll have to teach you," Annabeth responded. He just nodded as they started to get a rhythm going to the song.

"Don't look back. Just keep your eyes on me and it should be okay," she told him. They started to somewhat dance now. Sure, feet were stepped on but neither of them would change that because they laughed at it.

"You're holding back," he said when he noticed she was going slow for him. He smirked, but only for a short amount of time because she elbowed him in the ribs.

"Shut up and dance with me, Seaweed Brain," she said, as she smiled. They were now dancing for real. As the spun and laughed, Percy had the feeling that she was the one. It's cliche but he knew it. She was his "destiny", as some could say. But he would never say it aloud because she would think he's a helpless romantic, which he kinda was sometimes.

When the song finished they sat down on the side of the dance floor. This dance was formal but Annabeth wore Converse anyway. He loved that about her. Deep in her grey eyes, he saw so much. He dreamed of a future. Kinda too soon to think of one but he did. He couldn't wait.
