This one is post-Tartarus.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The night was silent. The Argo II drifted aloft above a sparkling city. Piper and Leo were on watch that night while everyone else was tried to catch wanted sleep. All except two, who couldn't. Tucked away in a room was two demigods who just escaped from the Greek hell-hole, Tartarus. They were silent; an unspoken conversation seemed to go on with their eyes, which looked broken beyond repair. The dark seemed to claw at them as they try to be comforted. With arms wrapped around each other, they were calmed.

Time ticked.

And ticked.

Both Percy and Annabeth hadn't spoken since they got out of there. They tried to stay strong and talk but no sound would come. They weren't always together but most of the time they were inseparable. All the crew members sat at the main table that morning, desperate to hear their friends' voices again.

"Please, talk to us, guys," Piper pleaded. She didn't use charm speak for forcing them wouldn't help. Piper looked at all the others' faces, her eyes conflicting in color.

"We're fine," Annabeth finally said in a scratchy voice, which was caused by drinking fire in that place. Percy just nodded. He leaned over to whisper something in her ear.

"I love you," he said and squeezed her hand. Annabeth kissed his cheek in response.

-----time lapse to the night------

Percy and Annabeth returned to what they were doing the other night; the dark still consumed every scary thought. Arms were wrapped around bodies, thumbs ran over knuckles, and kisses on foreheads. They smiled to each other as they hoped things would get better and they will. Even though they didn't know it, it would. But for now, the night was silent.
