Control

This is a one shot based off the song "control" by Halsey. It's pretty much just Dark!Percy. Here we go!

      Percy couldn't believe himself. Everyone was...afraid of him ever since Tartarus. He couldn't handle it. He remembered the fear in Annabeth's eyes. Annabeth's eyes. Even she was slightly afraid. Percy could never forgive himself. He laid awake in his room on the argo. Shadows danced against the walls like monsters and the creaking wood echoed and groaned. He sat alone in bed until morning, silently crying, they're coming for me. Percy tried really hard to keep these thoughts inside, like it was some deadly disease. But the seven saw it. Every time they looked at him.

I'm bigger than my body

I'm colder than this home

I'm meaner than my demons

I'm bigger than these bones

He remembered.

Annabeth cried out, "Please stop, you're scaring me"

Poison. Percy was choking Akhlys. With her own poison. The look in Annabeth's eyes. Fear.

I can't help this awful energy

Akhlys was scared.

Gods damn right, you should be scared of me

Who is in control?

Percy lost control, but Annabeth brought him back. She always had.

Percy paced around for hours on an empty void of feelings. With each creak of the wooden floors. With every whistle of air passing the window, he jumped. Percy couldn't stand the what he's become. What was inside him. He could hardly look himself in the mirror. He turned all of them away.

I'm well aquatinted with the villains in my bed

Percy was the villain. Along with his nightmares.

They beg me to write them so they won't die when I'm dead

Nightmares never went away. They haunt him. They will haunt him, even after death.

I've grown familiar with villains that live in my head

His memories, nightmares, dreams, actions all haunt him as well. But his memories made up who he was. They made who he was to everyone.

They beg me write them so I'll never die when I'm dead.

Percy is himself. He isn't anyone else.
