So Far

It's been about six months so hey I'm still alive! Just a reminder of what's going on at this point. Next chapter very very soon.

At some point during season 4 (not specified because it's not canon) Zelena returns. She was never dead. Her portal to the past has worked and she went back to the moment Emma and Killian met. She brought that vengeful, evil version of Hook back with her and he went on a killing spree, leaving only Emma, David, Mary Margaret and the present version of Killian alive.

In the final battle to defeat him, Emma is able to create a portal to the past to fix what Zelena and Past Hook have done. Emma and Present Killian escape. They are able to make it to the past and fix what happened, resetting things to how they are supposed to be and defeating Zelena in the process.

Unfortunately, their victory is short-lived because the portal they believe will take them home actually ends up bringing them to the future. One or both of them was thinking about a future together and the portal led them to it.

They are fifteen years in the future. Walking through the the meadow, trying to find a way home, they come across a teenage girl, nearly sixteen years old. She's the queen of this kingdom and reveals that she is Emma and Killian's daughter. Her name is Kaitlin. She explains to them that her parents went through the same thing, this trip to the future. It's some sort of time loop, it happens in every version of the timeline. Because of this, Kaitlin has been waiting for their arrival. Her parents, the future versions of Emma and Killian have been missing for two years.

Kaitlin leads the couple to the palace, where Mary Margaret, David, Emma's brother Neal, Regina, Robin, their daughter, Belle, Rumple, their daughter, Henry, Roland, and Kaitlin's brother, Liam, Emma and Killian's five year old son, await.

They reveal that Emma and Killian successfully rescued everyone after their little adventure and returned to the enchanted forest not long after their return to Storybrooke.

Kaitlin leads Emma and Killian to their room in the palace, but Killian soon questions the timeline. Kaitlin is nearly sixteen, but they are fifteen years in the future. How? Emma tells him she's pregnant. We later discover that they were in this version of reality for six months, while one month past in Storybrooke, so most of her pregnancy happens while in the future.

(She is roughly one month pregnant when they arrive, therefore is seven when they return and gives birth two months later. Because of this time jump in Emma's pregnancy and in Storybrooke time, she goes from one month pregnant to seven months in only a single month in Storybrooke time, Emma and Killian's daughter, when she is born, is only 4-5 months younger than Emma's brother Neal.)

They are led to the battle strategy room, where Kaitlin confronts Emma about her pregnancy and explains that her parents told them everyone they knew, however some of their memories were erased. Kaitlin reveals she knows how to get Emma and Killian back to the past faster than the timeline her parents lived allows.

Kaitlin reads a letter written by her mother, telling her that they can break the cycle of the adventure to the future. It will be difficult, but worth it. Emma discovers a letter for her, written on the back of Killian and Emma's wedding photo. It is from her future self, telling her it's time to forget about her walls and embrace the love she has. It's signed Emma Jones. Emma decides to listen to the letter. She opens up for good.

Later that night, Belle and her daughter discover where future Emma and Killian are. They've been kidnapped by Ursula. The only person who can track her is the most experienced sailor in all the realms. That would be Killian.
