As Emma and Killian walked into the meeting room, a beautiful red room with a long wooden table that could fit many people, Kaitlin walked up to them.

"May I have a word with mom?" She asked them.

Emma nodded, looking at Killian assuring him she'd be fine.

Emma walked out into the hallway with her daughter.

"You wanna know how everything happens? Because there's no way dad's going to let you go anywhere now that you've told him and I'm sure you'd like to know how you disappear," Kaitlin said.

"I had no choice. He'd figured it out anyway. How are you only four months younger than Neal if I'm not pregnant until now? Neal is only a month and a half old in our time and I'm a month pregnant tops!" Emma asked.

"I think you already know," her daughter replied.

Emma sighed. "Why are we here for four months? What happens that no one's telling me?"

"You're here for six months, actually. One month passes in Storybrooke. You get back exactly two months before I'm born. We don't know everything because my parents did have some of their memories erased. They told us everything they knew, but though it seems like much, a lot of what we need to know isn't known by anyone but my missing parents. They regained their memories a few days before they went missing," Kaitlin explained.

Emma's jaw dropped. "A month passes in Storybrooke? They think we're dead?"

Kaitlin nodded sadly. "Look, I'm really sorry to burden you with this. Dad doesn't make it on our trip-"

"What?!?" Emma interrupted Kaitlin. "But what about Liam? He's only five, how is Killian dead!?!" Emma was close to tears already. Stupid pregnancy hormones.

"Let me finish! We come back. You find out, you take off and try to bring him back to life. You spilt you heart in half and give half to him. It works, but it's because of this that you end up being here for so long. Emma, what I'm saying here is I know how to get you back sooner than my parents did. I can get you both home because even though dad lost his memories, you didn't. You remembered ever little secret. I know exactly where to find my parents, but only you and dad can get to them,"

"Why are you telling me all this?" Emma asked.

"Because I know how much it troubled you that your memories remained. I want to make the difference that the me of the past didn't," Kaitlin looked at Emma and sighed. "I want to be the hero that the version of me my parents met wasn't."

Emma smiled and hugged Kaitlin. "Thank you," she whispered.

Kaitlin nodded and the two walked back into the room.

Killian came over with a smile and took Emma's hand again. "Everything alright, love?"

"Yeah. She just wanted to talk to her mom," Emma said. She hated lying to Killian, but she wanted to make sure they could get home. Preferably in the next few days, as opposed to the next few months.

Everyone was starting to sit down at this point, so Emma and Killian looked around, insure of where to sit.

David had seen their confusion and came over to show them their seats at the head of the table.

"You're the king and queen. Your seats are at the head of the table because you're in charge," he smiled.

"Thank you, mate," Killian said nervously, taking his seat.

David started laughing, earning a confused look from both Emma and Killian, as well as Snow, Regina, Henry and Neal.

"He's still scared of me," David chuckled. "Man, do things ever change,"
