"Emma! Killian! You need to go before it's too late!" Snow cried. Emma hesitated. She knew the only way to stop this was for her and Killian to go back to the day they met.
The only way they would be able to stop the series of events that led them to this.
Zelena. It had been Zelena the whole time. Emma knew she wasn't really dead. Emma knew something was off. But it was still a surprise when she came strolling back into Storybrooke, accompanied by a very brainwashed Hook. Not Killian, Hook.
This man was a. Vengeful pirate that would stop at nothing to kill Rumplestiltskin. Of course this was concerning, but at first, it wasn't a huge problem. They would just lock him up. Killian was right here, by Emma's side, completely sane anyway.
Once he actually did kill Mr. Gold, however, it became an issue. Belle, who was devastated had gone missing in the dead of night a week later. Hook hadn't stopped after Rumple apparently.
Next was Regina and Henry shortly thereafter. This man just wouldn't stop.
Three weeks later, his massive killing spree was almost complete, with only Mary Margaret, David, Emma and Killian left.
Hook had caught David, and once David was gone, Mary Margaret would be too, them sharing a heart and all.
This should've happened weeks ago. What was supposed to be a last resort, in case something like this happened should have been done long before now, but with Belle gone, looking through spell books proved to be harder than it first appeared.
Finally though, Emma had managed to replicate Zelena's time travelling spell. Without the gruesome ingredients, of course.
Emma nodded, vision blurred with tears.
"I love you!" She called to her parents before looking at Killian and nodding. He took her hand and they jumped.
The last thing she heard was her father strangled cry of pain, followed shortly by her mother's. Then nothing. Darkness. She didn't remember this last time.
Emma awoke to Killian shaking her. He breathed a heavy sigh of relief when she opened her eyes.
"We did it, love. We made it," he said, helping her up. Emma rose shakily threw her arms around him. He hugged back, his hand rubbing her back soothingly.
"It's okay," he nodded "We're going to stop her. When we get back, everyone will be right back where they belong."
"Okay," Emma said, too emotionally and physically exhausted to argue. She hadn't had a good night's sleep in at least a week. Back when the population of Storybrooke had been above two.
They were standing under a cover of trees, but after walking through them, they discovered a village.
"No..." Emma whispered. Killian smiled.
"Well, right place, what about time?" Killian replied.
"I'm gonna guess yes," Emma said, pointing to a group of four women, uncovering a man from a pile of bodies.
"Hey, hey! Someone's alive!" She heard her voice call out.
Emma reached for Killian's hand as they watched their meeting. Teary-eyed, they both locked eyes and smiled.
"I love you," Emma mouthed to Killian, trying to remain quiet.
Killian smiled in return, placing a quick peck on her cheek before scanning the area. He spotted Zelena through the bushes.
Emma saw her at the same moment. They shared a quick glance and then nodded. They'd planned this out before leaving the now abandoned Storybrooke.
Emma cringed as she realized that by now, her parents were most likely both dead. Once again, she was an orphan. But this time, she had her pirate. She had a boyfriend who loved her and for now, she needed to focus on that.
They knew exactly how they were going to kill Zelena and stop her from taking Hook before he could be affected by Emma -Before he could fall for her- and bring him to kill the entire town of Storybrooke.
As the group of her, her mother, Mulan, Aurora and Hook moved away from them, the two snuck up on either side of Zelena. Emma used magic to blast her and distract her while Killian came from behind to slice her with his sword.
"What's going on?!?" She demanded. Suddenly though, she had a sword against her throat. Killian turned her so she could see him.
She looked extremely confused, darting her eyes back me forth between the Emma with a dagger against Hook's throat and the Emma and Killian here, working as a team to stop her.
"What..." She was cut off by Killian slitting her throat.
"Sorry, Greenie, but you don't get to brainwash me today," he said, dropping her limp body to the ground.
Emma, who had been preventing her from using magic, though it seemed she hadn't tried anyway, was now staring at Killian in awe, and what looked like fear.
Killian caught on and immediately dropped his blood-tipped sword, letting it clatter to the ground.
He stepped closer to her cautiously, reaching his hand out to her slowly. Emma sighed and took it.
"You okay?" He asked, "I'm sorry if that was a little..." He trailed off.
Emma shook her head. "She's gone, that the important thing. Everything should be back to normal, we did it," she smiled.
"That was much easier than I expected, I must say," Killian said, as Emma opened a portal back home in front of them.
It appears Killian spoke too soon, because when they landed, they were not in any way where they wanted to be.
