Later on, after Emma and Killian returned to the room that belonged to their future selves, they sat on the bed in silence, waiting for the other to speak first.
"What did the letter say?" Killian finally broke the silence.
"It told me I've been stupid. It really made me think... And realize that I don't have to be afraid to open up even more than I already have," Emma smiled slightly.
"Who was it from?" Killian wondered.
"Emma Jones..."
Killian chuckled. "I do quite like the sound of that, my dear. Emma Jones. It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
Emma laughed and shoved him lightly.
"Kaitlin said we should go downstairs for dinner. We should get going," Emma said after a few more moments of silence.
"Aye, that we should..."
"Well, I'm getting something nice on. Might as well play the part," Emma said, walking over to the wardrobe she'd found her current outfit in.
Emma looked around until she found a dress that looked so we hat comfortable. It was sea blue with a beautiful golden trim around the edges and neck. The long sleeves were carefully tapered to her arms, gold bands running around those too. The dress just touched the floor and it was fitted to for her perfectly.
Emma could tell all this from simply taking the dress out of the wardrobe. Once she'd put it on, she knew right away that this was likely one of her favourite dresses.
Killian gasped as Emma turned around after putting the dress on.
"Wow..." He whispered.
Emma giggled. "I take it you like it?"
Killian continued to stare. "... Swan, it's stunning. You're stunning," Killian got out.
"Love you too," Emma laughed, walking over to Killian's wardrobe to find something for him to wear.
By the time Killian had an elegant red and blue suit on, David had come to get the two for dinner.
"Hey," Emma said as she opened the door.
David smiled kindly. "You two ready to go?" He asked.
Emma nodded, Killian coming up behind her and putting his arms around her waist.

As the three walked down the hallway, Killian decided to ask David the question that had been bothering him all day.
"David, I was wondering, how did Rumplestiltskin redeem himself? I mean when he died in our time, he had just finished almost killing both Emma and I. He lied to Belle and tried to kidnap Henry..."
David smiled slightly.
"When you two came back from your second time travelling adventure, and we were all alive again, he'd lost his powers. He apologized and over time, you two grew closer. I know that at your point in life, that seems hard to believe, but you were good friends when Liam was born. He's Liam's godfather," David explained.
Killian was baffled.
"Wow..." Emma said.
Killian shook his head. "How is that... Possible? He tried to kill me and the woman I love. He took my hand... He took my heart-"
"You two bonded once you returned. He'd changed. We all had," David said sadly.
He was keeping something from them...
By then, they'd reached the dinning hall.
David led them in, showing them their seats. Emma beside young Liam and Killian beside Kaitlin.
Liam was bouncing up and down, beaming at Emma and Killian.
"Aye, you can tell he has his father's adventurous streak," Killian noted with a chuckle.
Emma smiled and sat down.
People started arriving couple by couple with their children.
Rumple had come up to Killian.
"I... Look, I know that where you're coming from in time, I had tried to kill you... Again, but I want you to know that I am sorry. I'm a different person here and I hope that our history doesn't make you afraid of me. I'm not going to hurt you," he said.
Killian nodded nervously.
"I was wondering why they'd let you live..." He said jokingly.
Rumple smiled as Belle brought their daughter, Colette over to meet Killian. Emma, who sat with Kaitlin and Mary Margaret, smiled.
"I'm glad those two get along eventually," she said.
Kaitlin laughed. "I'm always hearing these stories of how awful Rumple used to be... Now he's like a second father to me. You have no idea how many times he comforted me about you and dad disappearing. He's one of the only people who could make me laugh for the first year," she said.
Emma raised an eyebrow.
"...But, he did, apparently, try to kill me right after I was born. I'm warning you now," Kaitlin said with a smile, watching her father and Rumple interacting. "I've missed their friendship. Rumple always came over to our house before we returned here. Dad and him would watch sports. You thought it was crazy. Then again, you and Regina were quite close too. From what I've heard it wasn't always like that," she continued.
Emma shook her head. "No, it sure wasn't," she laughed.

After dinner, Kaitlin took Emma and Killian to the palace library where Belle waited with Colette.
"We may have figured out where the two of you are," Colette said upon their arrival.
She took out an old map and pointed to the bottom left corner. "Here," Belle said, "We believe the two of you were taken to a cave here and are being held hostage."
"By who?" Killian asked.
Belle looked at Colette, then at Kaitlin.
Kaitlin sighed and said, "A woman by the name of Ursula..."
