"W-what?" Tears were already running down Emma's face.
"We tried to stop it. History wasn't taking it. We are so sorry. But there's hope," Future Killian said gently.
Emma sobbed, motioning for him to continue.
"I'm still here. If he was gone for good, then I, along with Liam too, would have disappeared," he explained.
"So," Emma's future self continued, "that means he can be saved. By you,"
Emma looked around in confusion, into the faces of two people who seemed so different, yet similar to herself and Killian... Who was apparently dead...
"Did... Did he find you two?" She asked.
"Yeah. He did. As you can tell, someone," future Emma glared at future Killian, "got very sick. After we finally managed to escape, we ran into your Killian, who was just entering the cave we've been held prisoner in."
"Gave him quite the shock, I think. I know I was pretty surprised by everything when that was me. Especially the fact that you end up marrying me... Seeing that, it made it more real," future Killian said.
"I- Well seeing this- you two- I want it. And we need to bring Killian back, so that it can happen" Emma said, determined. "Where is he?" She asked.
Future Emma led her past self down a hallway, followed by Kaitlin and future Killian who still held Liam in his arms.
"Are you... Okay now? She- I... Your wife... Said you were sick?" Emma asked him.
He smiled and nodded. "Much better, Swan, thank you. On our journey back here, I was cured of whatever I had. I know I look a bit less perfect than usual, but I assure you I will be fine," he assured her.
Emma laughed at his quips and he put an arms around her.
"I do hope you don't mind me calling you Swan. Your future self gets angry because 'It's Jones, Killian!!!'"
Emma shook her head. "Not at all," she said with a smile.
Future Emma stopped in front of them and looked back. When she saw her husband with his arm around her past self she smiled.
"Killian, a hand?" She said.
At first, Emma thought that was supposed to be a one hand joke. Maybe she'd caught on to his sense of humour eventually.
But that's when she realized he had two hands.
She decided to question it later.
"In here," future Emma said, gesturing to the door beside her.
Future Killian opened it for her and they all entered.
In the middle of the dark room, laying on a tall bed, was Killian.
"No..." Emma whispered, walking over to cares Killian's pale, lifeless face.
She was vaguely aware of the little family, standing by the far wall, that she could have with this man who lay before her.
"You told me you were a survivor. You and I survived what was pretty much an apocalypse. We were supposed to have a family. Like them," she gestured to the future version of herself and him, "Exactly like them, actually. Please. Please, Killian, wake up. I can't live without you! I love you more than you could ever know," she whispered before pressing her lips to his cold, dead ones.
After what felt like hours and nothing happened, Emma lost hope.
She looked down, hopelessness laced her thoughts as she tried to come up with a plan.
She did have one though.Emma sighed and placed her hands on Killian's chest, conjuring her magic from the depths of her mind.
She knew this would have it's consequences, but she couldn't simply let him die.
It worked, too.
For a brief moment, Killian opened his eyes and looked around, startled.
Then a blinding flash shot Emma backwards, and into the wall.
The last thing she heard was two Killians yelling "EMMA!"
Then nothing.
Darkness.
Death.
