Steve and Ponyboy

Steves POV

I was at the Lake. I just needed some time to myself. But my time was ruined when I heard screams. I looked over to the docks and saw some socs tying a kids hands behind his back. Wait... Ponyboy?! I ran to the dock when I saw him get pushed in. I immediately dived into the frigid water and searched for the kid. I finally found him unconscious on the lake ground. I pulled him along with me and threw him as gently as I could onto the dock. "Kid? Kid? Are you alright." I mentally slapped myself. "Come on come on!" I said shaking him. He started coughing up water and I decided to be nice for once and rub circles into his back while he threw up. "Easy kid your okay" he looked up at me "Steve?" He asked hoarsely. "Yeah" I responded. I got my switch blade and cut the rope around his wrists off.

  "Steve I can't breathe that well" crap. "Okay Pone I'll get you home" I never called him Pone before and here's something else I thought would never happen. I lifted him up into my arms and carried him home worrying about him the whole way their.

  I knocked on the Curtis's house and the door opened. "Hey Steve" Soda greeted then saw his brother in my arms. "Ponyboy!" He exclaimed and took him in his arms. I followed Soda inside the house and kneeled down to Ponyboys level. "What happened?!" Darry yelled. "Socs tied his hand behind his back and pushed him in the lake so he couldn't swim. I just happened to be their" Soda then engulfed me in a hug. "Thank you so much Stevie!" He cried. Darry left and came back with two towels. I insisted that Pony should have them both but Darry said that I would catch nemonia (A/N no clue how to spell it lol)

  I fell asleep on the floor and woke up to a weight on my chest. I saw Ponyboy their his head was laying on my chest and he was asleep. I smiled and put my arms around him. What's wrong with me? He snuggled deeper into my chest and I fell asleep again.

   "There's  something you don't see everyday!" I heard Dallas yell. I opened my eyes only to see the whole gang staring at us and taking pictures. I then realized. Ponyboy was still in my arms. "Awe lay off!" I exclaimed and they all laughed. Ponyboy made a moaning noise and snuggled he head under my chin. "Awwww" they all said mockingly. "You just had to do that didn't you?" I murmured but smiled. "The kid ain't the bad is he Steve?" Soda asked. "Yeah he ain't to bad" I smiled looking down at him.
