Ponyboys POV

Lately it seems as though the gang doesn't care about me anymore. I've been thinking for weeks about how to make them show any proof of caring. I found the perfect way.

Silent treatment

If they can catch on and notice I'm not talking anymore then that proves that they do care if the don't notice for a week then they don't care.

Perfect.

The next day I woke up with Sodas arm on me as usual. "Morning" he smiled sleepily. I ignored him and went to go take a shower. He just fell back asleep.

I walked into the kitchen after my shower. Darry was making breakfast. "Hey Pone" Darry greeted I ignored him and started to eat breakfast. He just kept making breakfast. He did shoot me a few glances though.

Later that day the whole gang came over. "Hello Curtiss'!" Two bit shouted. "Baby Curtis he greeted me ruffling my hair. I walked away. This plan was not working so far and it was rather disappointing.

Sodas POV

"Hey have you guys noticed something...off about Ponyboy?" I asked. "Actually- yeah" Dallas responded. "It's like he's a mute now or something" two-bit said. "What do we do?" Johnny asked. "I have an idea" Dally said evilly. And we went to work on our plan

"Ponyboy can you come here for a minute." There was no response but I heard shuffling on the floor. When he walked into the living room Two-Bit tackled him. "Ouch! Two-Bit what the hell?!" "Language" Darry growled. "Can someone tell two-bit to get off of me?" "Sorry Pone no can do." Two-But started to tickle Ponyboy on the stomach. "Two-bihit stoahahap!" He laughed. "Why are you ignoring us?" I asked. Walking towards them. "Whahahat?" He asked laughing. The gang all advanced on him and started to tickle him together. "Come on bud if you just tell us we can stop!" I laughed. "Nohohoho! Plehehehease!" He screamed.

After about twenty minutes he said "ALRIGHT! ALRIHIHIT!" We stopped but Two-Bit poked him in the side one last time. "I've been ignoring you to see if you'd notice" he admitted. "What?" Steve asked. "I just wanted to see if you guys still cared about me." "Awe hon of course we do!" Darry said pulling him into a hug. It eventually became a group hug.

We would never let Ponyboy think we didn't care ever again.
