Lucifer POV

I made Nightmare gallop up all 2,000 steps to Heavens gates. My mind set on getting to Sapphire and saving her from Michaels clutches. Nightmare easily climbed the steps, his muscles barely having to work, the climb was no big deal to the monster of a horse.

...................

Reaching the top of the stairs, I patted Nightmares neck as he grunted and released some fire from his nostrils noisily, stamping his foot in annoyance. I laughed heartily, you see Nightmare wanted his treat. A sugar cube.

...........

Stood patiently at the entrance to heaven, two guardian angels in golden armour stood at high alert, a curious look on both the men's faces. "I am Lucifer, let me pass or so help me I will end you both." Sharing worried glances, they quickly opened the gates to the land of the innocent.

I heard the blonde guard whisper, "is he even allowed in here?" To which the other guard Mr brown hair, replied simply, "I don't know." I smirked from underneath the cloak, pulling on Nightmares reins to enter slowly through the gates.

Once away from the eyes of the guards, I pulled Nightmares reins to speed up. I knew faintly were I was going, let me tell you, you know that feeling when you eat too many sweets and you feel sick, I felt that way at the view in front of me. Millions of innocent souls roamed around enjoying their "peace", but if they knew how wrong the information they had been fed was, they sure wouldn't be here right now.

Zoned out, I didn't hear the terrified screams being released from the civilians of heaven, the image of a fire breathing horse and a black winged angel must be pretty scary... not. They were acting as though I would take their souls, another thing fed to them by no doubt goody two shoes Michael.

A single little girl, blonde hair and green eyes wearing a blue summers dress, walked up to the horse stopping him in his tracks. I glared down at the child as she stroked his side as if it was the most normal thing for her to see.

Stunned, I didn't realise she had asked a question, "errm," I cleared my voice, "what did you say?" She smiled shyly up at me.

"Why are you here and who are you?" I looked into the little girls curious green eyes, smiling at the courage she had inside her.

"I'm Lucifer, I'm here for my mate Sapphire, can you please tell me were the dungeons have moved too?" Hearing me say my name, her eyes become huge in her tiny head. But instead of running away she replied calmly with the answer to my question.

"They moved them near Gods palace, just before the archangels head quarters." I said my thank you's and watched as the child waved goodbye. Locating the dungeons was easy once I knew were I was going.

Sapphire POV:

You know that feeling when your whole body has had enough and the pain becomes a slow dull ache? Probably not, but that's how my body felt being chained to the wall, laying in my own dry blood from the day before. I'll never show them my fear. "Yo, assh0l3! I know you're there! I can smell you're dumbass from here!" I shouted angrily tugging slightly at my restraints.

My energy was close to naught, no fire left in my soul. How many beatings was it now? How long was I here for? Lucifer, what was he doing? Did he know? All these unanswered questions left to swallow the empty darkness of my mind. My wings had been ripped from my back, I blinked back tears as I thought of the torturous pain I've been through. Michael said they'd regrow but more pain was to follow.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, realising I never did spy on the devil, but in fact I fell hard and fast for the man that was once an angel.

Sleep overtook my brain, finally giving it a rest from the constant pain. Never getting a reply from Michael. Sleep was the only time I could escape, to relive my time with the beautiful devil who was my mate... one person I wouldn't forget no matter how many times they beat me. Hell was a far better place than here. The darkness swallowed up any remaining thoughts.

Lucifer's pov:

Charging into the dungeons, I swung off my horse grabbing my immortal sword. Stolen obviously from an angel, it could kill an immortal if pierced straight through the heart. It had turned black the moment I'd touched it, dark vs light.

As if awaiting my arrival Michael stood in front of a steel door. "Brother, what may you be visiting heaven for?" A sly smirk crossed his angelic face.

"You have something that doesn't belong to you and I want it back!" A growl unleashed itself from my throat in warning, if he wanted a fight I was more than happy to comply. I had thousands of years of non stop combat training, sword training... everything Michael knew, I'd taught him.

Michael laughed clutching his stomach. "You mean that pathetic little b!tch you call your mate? She's basically dead you know.  Bleeding to death as we speak."

I charged at him anger fuelling my body, swinging my sword above my head, bringing it down with all my might, he dodged the blow by millimetres. "Brother, you're getting rusty! All that time in hell has made you weak!" Michael said as his sword made contact with mine, clashing together making a ringing noise. The vibrations moving up my arms, I went for the next blow.

As our swords cut both of us equally, I swung around, sweaty black hair clinging to my face, the complete opposite to Michaels golden blonde hair, "sup golden boy, getting tired?" I asked a smirk playing on my face as our swords smashed together creating sparks.

"Never!" He roared, "all will end tonight!"
