The Definition Of Word
I say words like listening and phrases like curiosity killed the cat, but I don't mean the definition that's written in the dictionary.
My Definitions:
Listening: To hear and understand.
Curiosity Killed The Cat: The cat died because it didn't find out what it needed to know.
Young children do this to. A book I read a few months ago (on page 37) called "The Book Theif" by Markus Zusak mentions what the main character, and most children's definition of not leaving.
A DEFINITION NOT FOUND IN THE DICTIONARY
Not Leaving: an act of trust and love often deciphered by children.
Some words, if you were to look in the dictionary, have only one definition; but many words have more than one. More than one meaning. Many times the two definitions don't mean the same thing. Many people, mainly children--well, we all use different meanings, definitions. I mean, in just a day I'll see arund then pictures that say something like: I'm fine, definition, I'm broken, sad, depressed. Which is what many people, mainly teenagers, will say.
Everyone uses one word to say something, or at least a large majority of the human population. Whenever someone says I'm fine they might just being saying please, please hold me because I want to cry my eyes out. My point writing this is......
Words will always mean something else because every word has deeper meaning behind it.
P.S: Don't assume evey person always mean something else, they might just mean what they're telling you. Notice that my definition of listening may just aplly. Hope this was interesting and that you learned soemthing, peace people.
