Diction: the choice and use of words and phrases in speech or writing; the style of enunciation in speaking or singing.

A choice of words. The way they're said, which ones are used. What the words themselves mean and what the person means by them.

All of them matter when you're talking to someone, and maybe even moreso when you're comforting someone, whether it be over a break up, a child getting a scrape, or soemone that doesn't want to look in the mirror because they don't like who and or what they see. Too much weight, too little, themselves. Whether the person has depression or is anorexic or any other of the like in which the person's opinion of themselves may be that they hate themselves or a piece of themselves, what you tell that person, with what words, and how, is beyond important. A lot of the time I've seen the same old things being said. At some point those words seem to lose their meaning, the person saying them seems to not care so much, but, that's not truly the case. I read the comforting posts on tumblr, the words one has said to another, some that I've heard over and over and over again, and, for a moment it's the same old thing. The same old phrase. It loses it's truth for a moment, but then there's just this little change. This one post that I have seen before, that still warms my heart, that still makes a difference for whomever sees it.

The words have meaning, the person is saying them or typed them with all of themselves in it. That is what matters. Even if it is the same old phrase that has been said a thousand times over. The same ad, the same expression, the same shoulder to cry on or person or thing to hug and or lean on. The words only mean so much when the person saying or having typed them means so much, or they mean it with everything they've got. To those who may be reading this and may be having a hard time right now, whether it be with how you percieve yourself or maybe your boyfriend or girlfriend or someone hurt your heart, this is a remminder that, even if someone says the same thing, even if you get tired of the same old words, look at whether or not the person actually means it. Depending on the situation you might find that, huh, they do. They mean it. Or that they don't. They do seems to be the winner though. Just because it's the same thing you keep hearing does not mean that it's lost it's meaning. It depends on who said the words, how they said it, whether or not they mean in.

On that note, if whomever or whoever is reading this isn't exactly having the best time of their life right now, the phrase is to hell and back. Just because you're in hell does not mean you're going to stay there. You'll come back. Also, you are more important than can be put into words. Even if you believe you don't matter to the world well, guess what? You matter to those who know you, even if you think otherwise. Same old words they might be, I know, but I mean them.

Er... yeah. Was just thinking about that kind of stuff so... uhm... yeah.

Hopefully this helped someone feel better, and I hope whomever or whoever read and is reading this has a fantastic day :)
