Misa Amane was carefree. And while that was true, she was not so stupid as people thought her to be. Rem knew that. She was an intelligent girl, who was maybe a little naïve. So while she wanted to get Kira's attention, she didn't want the NPA to find her, obviously. So when she had sent those tapes in to Sakura TV, to be played for the nation, she had made sure to do so at her friends house, using her friend to touch everything, even lick the stamp. In fact, Misa went to far as to have her friend speak during the recording. The voice was scrambled in the videos, but L was smart. So under the circumstance that he was able to unscramble the noise and determine the voice, it would not be Misa's.
Now the small, young woman sat on her bed, reading a magazine. Her Shinigami, Rem, stood beside the bed, watching Misa flip through the pages. "You didn't see anyone in Aoyama, Misa..." Rem said in her deep voice. She was of course, concerned for this human. It was odd for a Shinigami to care, though. "I know, Rem." Misa replied in her peppy voice. "But that doesn't mean that Kira didn't see me. And if Kira is as smart as he seems to be.... He'll find the 'clue' that I left."

After leaving task force headquarters later that evening, Light Yagami took a bus to Aoyama. By that point it was around 8 pm, but Light had told Ryuzaki that he would be going then. While Ryuzaki might go back to Aoyama to get more security tapes from the evening, Light could easily say he just wanted to go check things out and that's why he was on the tapes from the evening.
Once returned to the Note Blue, Light looked around. The place was an average looking café. Only a few people still remained in the building, since closing time was in a half hour and it was getting late. There was a young woman with short hair behind a counter decorated with desserts in glass containers, an older man finishing his drink and a teen boy with acne scattered over his face, sweeping the floor. The woman hadn't been working earlier whenever Light had came with Ryuzaki, which was good. He wouldn't necessarily have to talk like he was investigating right away.
The area was quiet now, only small sounds escaping through the quiet pop music being played throughout the café. Light Yagami walked across the room, to the counter where the young worker sat, bored, chewing some gum. He noticed her name tag that said Mayumi. Either way.... From his jacket pocket, Light retrieved a photo that he has managed to get of the disguised girl from the security tapes.
"Hi, miss, I was wondering if you saw this girl today..." Said Light, showing the picture to the woman across the counter from him. They woman's bored eyes widened, a little surprised. "Yeah, actually! She thought you would be here around this time..." Perplexed, Light raised an eyebrow. She expected me to come here? What is this girl?
"Oh? She expected me here?" He asked. The lady, now full of energy nodded. "That's right." She smiled a little. "She was here all day, saying she expected her friend to show up.... Well, at least since late afternoon, when I started my shift, but Jun said she had showed up shortly after he opened the shop."
That's right. According to those tapes, the girl had shown up at 9:13, and stayed pretty well all day, which was another reason that Ryuzaki suspected her of something.
The girl behind the counter shrugged, tilting her head a little as she did. This caused her somewhat long dark bangs to fall across her forehead. "Anyways," she went on to say. "Once I told her I was a staying until closing, she ordered something for you and said to give it to her friend when he showed up. And... That's you?" Light knew then. The second Kira hadn't seen his name or she would have given a name to this worker. Then the girl would just ask for his name. But instead, she asked if he knew this girl.
"If the girl who made the order is Misa-chan," he dreaded added the adoring 'chan' to her name but of course, he had to make it sound like they were good friends and that he adored her. "Hmm...." The girl behind the counter hesitated. "Yeah... I think that was it."
So she didn't use a fake name? Then she really wanted Kira to find her. She wasn't worried about being killed by Kira either....
And so, offering the polite, almost entirely expected smile, the woman behind the counter said, "Alright, then. Just a second, then." The girl turned her back to Light for a matter of seconds, grabbing a pink box off of the counter behind her. Passing this gently to Light, she smiled still. "Have a good day then." Returning this smile, Light nodded, "Will do."
After leaving, Light noticed a small, hand written note on the package....Ueno Park
9 pm, May 23A frown momentarily covered Light's face, in confusion to what this was. Or maybe because he already knew and was annoyed that this girl had already laid it all out. The frown quickly turned to a small grin. Alright, Misa. You want to play? Then let's play. Although, I can promise, that in the battle of Kira and L, you will be no more than a pawn.
And so, Light left Aoyama. When he finally returned home that night, Sayu was still up, watching some program. He told her she should get to bed and she replied sarcastically that he wasn't her mom. Light smiled and shrugged. It took his sister a moment to notice the box but when she did, she started joking and asking Light, "Did you get me food? What a nice brother.... Or, are those maybe chocolates for your secret love?" Light had simply laughed at Sayu and hugged her good night before retreating to his room upstairs.
With Ryuk following Light, right by his side, Light sat down at his desk, put the note that Misa had wrote into his pocket and opened the pink box. Inside were several heart shaped, jelly-filled donuts and also... What is this? A shining red apple sat in the middle of the donuts.
