Chapter Seventeen
❤❤❤Aria’s POV❤❤❤
Alek looked up at me and that was all I needed. My heart raced and I closed my eyes. When I opened them, havoc has already started. Alligators and rats that must have lived in the sewer were fighting along with us. I glanced at Jess to see her smirking at me. I smiled and laughed, despite the circumstances. Eve was flipping all over the place, incredibly fast I might add. She touched the ghost with one finger and they disappeared, it was astonishing. Maybe they had a weak spot and she knew about it. Logan stood on the side, next to Avery. They had the same pose, stance wide with their fists clenched. They both had their brows furrowed and looked around. They’re probably making all of the things float around, the pipes, water, and trash. All of these things hit out enemies dead on. Many of them disappeared into thin air, but there were still hundreds of them left. I had to think fast.
They all seemed to travel as one, but they never communicated. I wonder how they did that. Then it hit me; they can talk to each other with their minds. I grinned, and knew exactly how to make them all go away.
I closed my eyes and focused my energy all into my power. I thought hard about what I was about to do, so I would do it right. I had to get into his mind.
I heard all his commands: “Left, right, gather closer in the middle, quickly up!” He chanted his commands to his minions. Ok, calm now, I have this under control.
The ghosts took one swipe at me and I flew through the air. Screaming I thought I was going to die. But suddenly I stopped mid-air, and was gently placed on the ground. I looked to Logan, he smiled. I sent a thank you into his mind and he nodded, then quickly got back to work. I stood back up, and noticed the Shadow’s attention wasn’t on me anymore. I focused my energy again and got into his head.
“Disappear.” I said, and some of the ghosts just dissolved into thin air, the others looked confused. “Go away. Go back home.” Ghosts went down the tunnels and seeped through the walls and floors. The Shadow frantically tried to stop them, but I was too powerful. I mentally laughed at how pathetic he looked.
He glared at me. “YOU!” He charged at me. All I did was smile and say, “Kill him.” The ghosts that hadn’t left yet, instantly rammed themselves against the Shadow. He screamed in agony, and the ghost disappeared one by one as their bodies slammed into their leaders. Their betrayal was more than enough to make the Shadow weak. With the last ghost heading his way, he lifted him arm towards me.
“Please, take pity on me.” I frowned and shook my head. I replied, “No. I’m sorry, but you hurt all these innocent people just for yourself. Selfishness is a very bad thing, especially if you almost killed people. I’m sorry, but you have to go.” The last ghost smashed into him and the Shadow disappeared. Everyone cheered, even the people that were stuck with Alek were trying their best to be happy and cheer.
I ran over to Alek and got him down. Once his feet touched the ground his kissed me. Full on the lips. I tasted his blood and his sweat, but at this moment, I didn’t care. I wrapped my arms around his neck and felt him smile against my lips.
“KEEP IT PG WOULD YA?” Avery interrupted us, making Alek pull away. He laughed and gripped my hand, pulling me towards the next person. Everyone helped someone down. Once they were all free, we had a giant group hug before departing. The five had thanked us all many times, especially Alek, since he knew us personally. When we had finished saying our goodbyes, we all left in different tunnels, but our group sticking together of course.
The dwarves had been waiting for us by the entrance of the the tunnel we came in through. They had explained how they couldn’t do anything, and would rather have not gotten in our way, so they stayed on the side. We all nodded in understanding.
When he got back, we thanked the dwarves for their help and stepped back through the hole in the wall, and entered our secret room. I sighed in relief.
“Aria, can I talk to you?” Alek had a worried look on his face. I slowly nodded, and let him guide me to the couch where he sat down. He motioned for everyone to go upstairs into our dorm.
“Don’t worry, we’ll be up soon.” I assured Eve, as she sent me a worried glance. They all headed up the stairs, and once they were out of earshot, Alek told me the news.
