Chapter Twenty

❤❤❤Aria’s POV❤❤❤

“I’m not your real mother.”  That just messed me up.  She’s not my mom?  I was so sure that this woman in front of me had given birth to me, and that she had been my mother for all of my 18 years.  But apparently she lied.  Or rather, she didn’t tell us the truth, whichever you’d like to think.  But if she’s not our mom, and our dad is not our dad, then who are our real parents?  And where are they?

“Your biological parents are in Wolverhampton in the UK.”  She went on, like she read my mind.  But it’s not like I was reading her mind at the moment, no…  I obviously didn’t know that the parents she was talking about were her sister and her sister’s husband, and I didn’t just figure out that that their last name was Payne.

“I-I… This… This is a lot to take in…”  Avery breaks the awkward silence.  Our aunt, or used-to-be-mom, nods and continues, “I’m your aunt.  Your mother’s name is Karen Payne, she’s my sister.  Her husband is called Geoff, they have three kids, not including you two.  They’re named Ruth, Nicola, and Liam.”  Is she serious?  My brother is Liam Payne?!  How could this be?!

“If she’s your sister, how come you don’t have a british accent?”  Avery asked out of curiosity.  I just giggled.  Our aunt smiled.

“I hide it.”  And in that sentence she let it show; her true identity.  I wasn’t actually mad at her for not telling us the truth, because she probably has a great explanation for it.

“Dang it!  If you had talked in a British accent for our first few years in this world we would have British accents too!”  Avery fake-raged and made my aunt look relieved.  She was incredibly happy that we weren’t mad at her, I could tell.

“Wait, so Aria and Avery’s brother is the Liam Payne?  As in Daddy Direction?!”  Eve got incredibly excited the moment my aunt said the word Payne, and I could see in Jess’ eyes that she was excited too.  I was probably the most excited though.

My aunt chuckled, “Yes, he’s the Liam Payne, from One Direction.”  I screamed in my head.  I’ve had sexual thoughts about all of One Direction, just to find out one of them is my brother?!  AHHHHH.  Yeah, I guess it’s okay, I didn’t know at the time.  But still!  I’ve fangirled over Liam for a long time.  I can’t believe he’s my brother!  That totally ruins my chances of marrying him, but it’s okay because Niall is my soulmate even though he doesn’t know me.

“So…  Can we go meet our real family?”  Avery asks for me, since she knows I can’t talk at the moment.  I silently thanked her and praised her with carrots through our twin telekinesis.

“Of course!  But I can’t go with you, I have some business to take care of here.  I’ll give you the information and you can leave when you’d like.”  She gets up to go get their address I assumed.  Once she was out of earshot, I looked at Eve and Jess with a huge smile on my face.  Avery sighed, “Go on, ‘fangirl’.”  I laughed and squealed as the other girls did the same.

“I can’t believe he’s your brother!  We have to go meet him!  We can come right?”  Eve gestures to her and Jess, and I nod, thrilled because this is going to be one exciting vacation.  Seeing my real family for the first time and possibly meeting Liam and the boys, this might be too much for me to handle!  I was too happy to be mad at my aunt, but she was still related to me and raised me, so I loved her all the same.

My aunt walked back into the room with a folded piece of paper and sat back down.  She smiled and handed it to me.  I unfolded it as Avery looked over my shoulder.

“They live in Wolverhampton, obviously, in a light blue house that has a porch swing.  It’s around the corner from a small flower shop and a coffee shop. They didn’t put the address though, probably because they didn’t want to risk getting their address leaked through the mail or something.”  I read the note to everyone at the table.  The girls nodded, understanding the last part I added on.

“So, when do you guys wanna go?”  Jess asked us.  I could tell she was trying to hold in her excitement by kicking her feet under the table.  I side-smiled, “Whenever you wanna go.  We can leave this week if you want.  If that’s okay with your parents and stuff.”  I shrugged and my aunt nodded.  Jess bit her lip and smiled and Eve bounced like a little kid on their birthday.

“Let’s leave on Friday!  That way we have a few days to pack.  I’m sure our parents will let us go, we’re practically adults, and it’s summer!”  Eve beamed, making the happiness in the room contagious.

“That’s a great idea!  It’s a plan then.”  I nodded and smiled wide.  This is going to be the best summer ever!

“Wait so if the Paynes are our real family, our last name isn’t Silverwood?  It’s Payne?”  Avery asked out of curiosity.  Our aunt nodded.

“Cool!  Avery Payne, because Avery brings the Payne!”  We all laughed at my sister’s joke and planned our excursion.
