Chapter Three
❤❤❤Jesslyn's POV❤❤❤
BOOM
The bookcase slid away, revealing a long, dark tunnel leading into nowhere. A small spider casually walked out of the tunnel and towards me. Oh boy, if that spider gets near me, the girls are going to have to go get new ear drums. I close my eyes and hunch down trying to calm myself, I think to myself, "Please go away, please go away." I open my eyes in shock to hear a voice answer me in my head. And it wasn't my voice. "Sorry Miss, I'll just be on my way."
My eyes follow the spider who changes course, heading towards the stairs back to our dorm instead. I scream and run out the door before the spider could get their first, and sprinted up the stairs. I heard them call my name, but kept running. I heard a boom, and that voice again, "Miss, your friends have closed the entrance to my home. Would you mind please opening it again?" I screamed louder and covered my ears with my hands as I burst into our dorm and ran out.
I heard them all run after me as I tried to get away from the spider that was haunting my mind. I stopped, realizing what was happening. I can talk to spiders?! That's impossible! I was never able to do that, so why has it started now? As my mind was running through thoughts, my friends had finally caught up to me.
"Are you ok Jess?" Eve looked at me with a worried look on her face. I nodded weakly and smiled, "I'm fine thanks." Avery looked over my shoulder and her face turned rigid.
"That guy doesn't look ok though." She stormed over to where a boy was being bullied. All of us followed quickly behind her. Getting closer, we all realized it was the same boy that was pointed out earlier. The one in Aria's dream. Her 'dream' guy, you could say, but I'd never tell her that aloud. She suddenly looked at me, a glare playing across her face. Had I said that out loud? Her face turned soft as she shook her head, facing the blonde boy in her dream. He was being bullied by some jock, and now Avery was going to kick that jocks butt. She hates bullies, no matter who they are.
Getting closer, we could hear their conversation. Or the jock's insults rather.
"Hey punk," he spat, "You think just 'cause you're new here, you can just bump whoever you want?!" The blonde boy jumped back.
"I'm sorry it was an accident!" He scrunched back as if getting ready for the hit. Avery started to go after the jock, muttering under her breath, "Ugh, I hate bullies!"
Suddenly, Aria grabbed Avery's arm, "Let me handle this." She marched past Avery, straight towards the bully and the boy in her dream. Eve, Avery, and I looked at each other in confusion.
"What the heck?!" Avery said, throwing her arms up in the air, "What does she think she's doing?!" We watched Aria go up to the bully and say, "Why do you keep bullying people? You're so mean!" The jock opened his mouth to shoot back an angry reply, but Avery got in between them. She glared at him with evil looking eyes.
"Remember the time when we were in gym?" His eyes widened, and he slowly backed away from the girls and the blonde boy, who was now on the floor.
"Whoa, I'm not tryin' to hurt nobody." He retorted stupidly. He was still inching backwards, towards a trash bin. Avery inched towards him, continuing to back him against the trash can.
"It can be all over with the click of a button." Avery continued darkly. "Now go away. Never come back. EVER. Or else." She glared at him as he turned around. He stumbled into the trash can and we all laughed, then he ran.
The blonde boy, who was still on the floor, looked up at Aria and Avery. "Thanks," he whispered. He got up and dusted himself off. He smiled and held out his hand, "I'm Alek, Alek Xander."
