Wearing her long snow boots and woolen scarf around her neck, little Lana turns the door knob of the front door and carefully steps down the snow laden stairs to the snowman who was standing tall and strong in what was previously a beautiful lawn in the summer. She bents down and picks the little carrot nose that had fallen off his face. A little squiggle makes its way onto her thick eyebrows as she looks up into the sky, at the sun that had risen bright in the horizon. Little streams of melted snow water was beginning to form from the huge piles of snow.

She sat in front of the snow man hugging her knees across her chest. It was so much warmer today. Nothing like the day her Mom was leaving. That day had such a huge snow.

And it was the kind of snow she and her mom loved. The crystal type, that was so fine and sparkled like diamond flakes. Not the kind that struck together - it was easier to make a snow man with that kind. But, they still made it work. They wet their hands and pressed the snow into large balls making the neighbors kids come out and attempt their own models.

But, not Siddy. Siddy was just standing inside by the glass windows of the living room, peeping out through the blinds at them every now and then, pretending to be playing video games on his console. He did not like the snow as much as she and her Mom.

"Come on out Siddy, I know you want to." her Mom called him out.

"I don't. You both are crazy. You will get frost bite Mom, and infections. Infections do not heal in space." he informed his Mom, reminding Lana again, that her Mom was going away. For seven long days this time. She hated it when her Mom went away.

"Lanaaaa!" her Mom calls her out noticing the frown on her face.

"What??" she looks at her pouting.

"Wanna have a snow fight?" and the next second a small sized snow ball came flying down her way.

"Mom!!" she cried, all excited as another one came touching down on her huge snow jacket. She giggled and made a ball as big as her skiing gloves could hold and threw it at her Mom who was now taking shelter behind the partially build snow man.

"Missed it!" she shows her thumbs down.

This time, she makes another ball and runs behind her, ambling through the snow that was unto their knees. They throw little snow punch balls at each other laughing and giggling. Her Mom slowed down after a bit and let her win, as always. But, larger balls come both their way from another direction. They both look around to see Siddy hiding behind a tree. "Gotchu both!" he laughs.

As much as a bad idea he thought it too be, he was getting jealous seeing them have so much fun.

"Oh, look, our hypochondriac is out." Mom laughs and they both joined teams and ran behind.

"That's not fair. This is two against and one!" Siddy whines running from them both. They pin him down and bury him in a snow ball flurry laughing on top of one another.

"Mom is always my team!" Lana teases him. They just lied there, panting, in the snow, looking at the stars, tired from having laughed so much.

"Do you really have to go, Mom?" Lana asks her Mom sitting over her knees, looking at her with an about to cry face.

"Of course she has to. It is her job." Siddy tells her as he had authoritative sources. He was always that way. There were facts and there were things to do. They were no going around them for Him.

"But, why can't they sent someone else? Why do they always want my Mom?" she asks her. She looked so innocent and beautiful as the moon shone brightly on her face.
