"Do you think she'll like it?" I asked nervously, watching Mona sip her Starbucks. She seemed content.

"I would." She shrugged, and I nodded.

"Who is she, anyway?" Mona asked, and I started to blush sheepishly.

"Lacey." I admitted, and she looked at me with wide eyes. She covered her mouth like she was going to spit out her drink. She swallowed and smacked the table, picking up the bag with the necklace with one hand and her Starbucks in the other.

"What are you doing?" I asked, and she shook her head. She walked away quickly, leaving me to follow her.

"What the hell? Give me the necklace!" I said desperately, running to catch up with her.

"No, Lacey Michelle Ross is a bitch and doesn't deserve this." She mumbled, taking a sharp turn towards the Kay Jewelers.

"No she's not! I bet you don't even know her!" I said, and she turned around quickly.

"No, I know her damn well. And I wish I don't." She spat, and I felt my face get red. Everyone said things about her like this, they were all wrong. Of course, I was the only one who was right.

"She's my step-sister. Not by blood, thank God." Mona told me, walking towards the school again.

"She doesn't deserve a necklace like this, a guy like you." She mumbled, and I was confused. What guy was I?

"What do you mean?" I asked, and she didn't even turn around to look at me.

"A guy like you. Someone who cares. How blind can you be? Lacey is insane!" She told me, and I grabbed the bag out of her hand.

"You're jealous!" I realized, and her eyes widened.

"Of wait? A fake Barbie doll? No thanks." She spit, reaching for the bag. I thanked God for my longass arms when I lifted the bag up out of her reach.

"You motherfricking giraffe!" She said, standing on her toes trying to reach it. I grinned in triumph, but looked down at Mona to see a smirk creep up on her face.

"Fine, want to play dirty?" She said, standing on her toes, just barely reaching my ear.

"I'll play dirty." She whispered, and I couldn't process the words before white hot pain overcame me. I fell to my knees and dropped the bag, grabbing my gentlemen areas. She kneed me in the balls!

"You must be a Gemini." I mumbled, curling up in a ball on the cold mall tile.

"Pisces, actually." She told me, and I could hear her smugness. She walked away with the bag in her hands, leaving me alone. I groaned and picked myself up, sitting on a bench next to a little boy.

"Are you a superhero?" He asked me, and I simply shook my head. I puffed, calming down.

"Well, I am. Want me to get that robber?" He asked me, standing up and taking off his little jacket, wrapping it around himself like a cape. He was about to take off when a lady called his name, and he looked back.

"I have to go, but I'll find that robber one day!" He told me heroically before running towards his mom. I squeezed my eyes closed, but soon opened them to find Mona sitting next to me.

"Use your money better, next time." She mumbled, putting a wad of cash in my hand before walking away in silence.

And I was told Lacey was bad.
