"I heard about your date."

I looked up to see Mona sit next to me. I picked up my water bottle and sprinkled her with it.

"NOT TODAY SATAN! MAY THE LORD BLESS YOUR SOUL-"

"Ashton!" I heard Calum say before the water bottle was ripped from my hands.

"Did it work?" I asked, and Mona pulled back her wet hair in a ponytail.

"Yes, Ashton it worked. Thank you." She said bluntly, and I smiled. I was really good at this, maybe I'd become a priest later.

"I came to say I'm sorry." The dark hair girl said simply, and I nodded. I would be jealous of Lacey if I was her sister too.

"It's fine." I gave her a small smile.

"So we're good?"

"We're good."

With that, she smiled and walked away. Calum rolled his eyes at me and looked back at the water bottle.

"This isn't even holy water, dumbass. It's Poland Springs." He snorted, giving it back to me.

"I blessed it. Fight me høe." I told him, and he put his fists up jokingly.

"How many times have you ever gone to church?" He asked, sitting next to me.

"Once a month. Which is 12 times a year. Which is 12 times more than you a year. And in total, that's about 10,000 more times that you, so I wouldn't be talking." I told him, and Calum rolled his eyes.

"We need to get you a math tutor." He mumbled. I smiled and saw Luke walking down the hall, and the smile fell into a frown quickly.

"Can't have Lacey so you hit on her sister?" He said, taking my arm and pulling me up to face him, even though he was a good 4 inches taller than me.

"Wait, Lacey didn't tell you about the date?" I said, and he looked at me in confusion. He wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack.

"What are you talking about?"

"Lacey and I went on a date." I said smugly, and saw him face fall. But only For a second before he started laughing.

"That's funny, really. You should be a comedian." He spit, and I looked behind me. Calum was trying to get to me, but one of the football players was holding him back. God, this is like a really bad teen movie.

Luke raised his fist to punch me and I closed my eyes, but it never came.

"Luke, if you have 3 football players to beat up one guy that doesn't make you tough." Michael called from the end of the hall. He always comes at the most convenient times.

"Did I ask, Clifford?" He said, walking to Michael. Michael crossed his arms and watched the boy come up to him.

"No, but I answered." He said, and a small smile tugged at his lips. But it wasn't a oh snap I got you smile. It was a happy smile.

Maybe I was just imagining it.

"Well maybe you should keep it to yourself next time." He said simply, and gestured for the player to release Calum. They walked away, and Michael came over grinning.

"Luke never hits you." I complained, and he nodded with the smile.

"I know, isn't it great?"
