"You look ridiculous!" Calum giggled, taking out his phone to take a picture. I slapped it out of his hands and returned my hands to my hips, watching him grumble before picking it up.

"I look adorable, first of all. Second, this is really important so if I screw it up, I'm blaming it on you." I threatened, but he just shrugged.

"I'm just waiting for the text from Michael, then we'll be all clear." Calum told me, and I nodded.

I rubbed my sweaty palms against my pants. I've never been this nervous, but then again, prom is a big deal.

Calum's phone buzzed, and my heart leapt out of my chest.

"Ready?" He asked, and I nodded.

We walked out of the janitors closet, and made our way to the cafeteria. Mona, Michael, and Luke met us at the doors with a big banner.

"Ashton, oh my." Mona started laughing. The four of them laughed until they practically couldn't breathe, but I just shrugged it off.

I need new friends, anyway.

"Just open the door, okay?" I snapped, and Mona wiped away the tears. Luke and Michael took a deep breath before opening the double doors. Calum and Mona paraded in front of me, holding the long banner.

As we walked in, the cafeteria fell silent. Lacey stood up after a few moments, reading the sign out loud.

"Lacey, I'm nuts for you! Prom?" It read.

"Ashton, are you dressed like a squirrel?" She called from across the room, and I nodded sheepishly.

"I'm allergic to nuts." She called, and I mentally punched myself.

God dammit, I always forget this girl is allergic to nuts.

I needed to write that down.
