Ch 14: A Critical point

(Irene POV)

Irene looks over the horizon from the top of the north tower. Its been a week since they left Robona. She wonders how they are doing, Clare, Miria, Jean, Undine, Veonica, Flora, Ophelia, Helen, Deneve, and Galatea. Also everyone els in the Clan. But someting has been bothering her, its a bad feeling she felt since this morning. 

"Wondering how they are doing?" Said a familiar voice.

"Yes father Vincent" responded Irene.
Father Vincent join Irene on the sight seeing.
"Is something bothering you Irene?" Asked father Vincent.

"Hmm?" Question Irene, looking at father Vincent.

"When ever something bothers me, I always come here to clear things up" said father Vincent "so tell me whats bothering you? if you wish to tell me"

Irene looks back at the horizon. There was a moment of silence, but father Vincent waited patiently for her speak.

"I have a bad feeling, a feeling that I cannot shake off, I don't know why but I feel like something bad happened to them or is going to happen soon"

Father Vincent looks back at the horizon as well. He respects Irene, beacuse she is a woman of wisdom and a great teacher of combat skills. What she says may be true.

"Or maby I am getting paranoid"

"Well whether its paranoid or not, Its best to believe in them, and have faith, I pray everyday for thier safe return"

Irene glance at father Vincent, she can't believe she is haveing a one on one talk with a priest whose church forbid anything unclean in the city. And here they are Claymores and humans living  in a church of a holy city, getting along very well. Its almost a disbelief this happen all thanks to Clare. That girl, Clare is always full of surprises.

Irene still remembers that one conversation she had with all the warriors. The conversation was about the problem of a place to live. They will do well to survive in the wilderness, but most warriors are too picky. In the middle of the conversation Clare left and did not came back until an hour later. But she was not alone, she came back with the head bishop and all the priest of the church. The bishop said they can stay for as long as we like, in Clare's request. This relived everyone.

"Dame girl changes everything, everywhere she goes" mumbled Irene.
"Did you say something?" Said father Vincent.

Thier conversation was inturupted.
"Big sister Irene!!!" Said a girls voice.
Irene looks back at a claymore girl who runs toward her.
"What is it Madison?" Asked Irene.
"Come quick! Tessa is crying again and she won't stop" said Madison grabbing Irene by the hand and pulling her toward the exit of the tower.

'Again!' thought Irene.

"Take me to Tessa, its about time she stops crying for Clare" said Irene

"I will go too" said father Vincent following Irene and Madion.

Ieren still haves that bad feeling, but she will have faith that they will all return very soon.

'If there is a god above, please  have everyone come back safely' prayed Irene.

(Dietrich POV)

Dietrich waits at the front of the main gate of the city. People are still evacuateing, but little remain in the city. Petty soon it will be a ghost town to the Claymores.

Dietrich waited for Captain Deneve. She was order to meet her at the main gate. In a distance she saw Deneve talking to a boy and his family. Mainly the boy. When it was time for the human family to leave, Dietrich was surprised to see the human boy suddenly hug Captain Deneve. Deneve was surprised as well. The boy let go and made his final good bye. The family left and walk past Dietrich. Deneve walks toward her.
